Eric Clapton @ Royal Albert Hall
Had the pleasure of watching Eric Clapton this week at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
An amazing performance from one of the all time greats & would highly recommend to all if you ever get the chance. |

That’s right, Sonny was amazing! Would’ve loved to have seen Steve Gadd perform but probably a little late to the party for that! Also had Doyle Bramhall II on guitar, Chris Stainton on keyboard and Tim Carmon on keyboard. Vocals by Sharon White & Katie Kissoon. |

Sounds great! We like to see great performers of the 60s, 70s and 80s while they are still around.
In the last ten years, we saw Steely Dan, CSN, Jethro Tull, Bob Dylan, members of the Eagles, Sting and Peter Gabriel (together). |

Unusual to see so much backline amplification.

Must have been a great show in an iconic hall.
I saw him on the 2nd to last night of the One More Car, One More Rider tour in 2001. I won 7th row center seats from the local rock radio station. He had Nathan East on Bass, Steve Gadd on Drums, Andy Fairweather Lowe on Guitar, and Billy Preston on Keyboards, Billy tore it up, especially on Will it Go Round in Circles. Doyle Bramhall II was the opening act. |

Amazing, I have the recording on DVD of that show and love listening to the live recorded tracks. I bet it was awesome in person. Funny how things work out though - AFL & Doyle seem to have switched roles. AFL was the warm up act this week! |

Wow, now that's a concert! I was wondering how the ol' boy was doing with his neuropathy issues. Glad he's still performing. I'm a big longtime fan. I saw him over 10 years ago in Seattle and he put on a great show (Los Lobos was the opening act). He is one of those legends you have to see at least once. I have a couple of his signature Martin guitars and a Fender Twinolux Amp (I think I saw one on stage, blonde finish). Hope he comes to North America. Thanks for sharing your pics. Cheers!

I saw him about 10 years ago and the stage set up looks pretty much the same. What I did notice was that no other band member stepped on the carpet that Clapton stands on.

I’ve seen him many times and the last, around 6 years ago, was pretty awful. He simply didn’t play particularly well and lacked any energy. Doyle Bramall played circles around him. Still a legend but not worth the price of a ticket these days.
