So, let's say there is this watch you want...

...and it is for sale by someone you don't care for. Price is fair (not great). Do you buy it or pass?

I'm leaning towards pass, but wonder what others think.

Not sure what you mean mate? someone you dont care for? like hating your brother-in -law and he is selling a watch ? Or a jewellers you don't like?
Just a piece of steel and a good deal is a good deal.

No, someone on a forum who just always makes posts that make you ticked when you read them.

If it's in a good shape I'd buy it no matter who's selling it, the only exception being a possible better price you think you could have elsewhere!

Unless its a particularly unusual piece to find, a deal will probably come along in the future that you will feel better about. Not knowing any more specifics, I vote pass.

wow...at this point, 2 buy and 19 pass. didn't think it'd be so skewed!

yeah, it's a chunk of metal, but, come on, it's also something you get attached to, otherwise, why spend the money and why be on forums, etc. gotta pass on the polluted watch.

I didn't vote, Mik. I could go either way really. Usually if you're patient enough you'll find a deal anyway. Curious what you're looking at though...

Its just business...............people do business with others everyday that they don't like. Can you imagine what the economy would be like if people only did business with people they liked????? The world economy is bad enough. Sounds like you are looking for an excuse not to buy the watch, particularly since its the one you want and the price is fair.

I would pass as well... It is just a watch and I would rather give the folks I do enjoy working with the business and money even if it is a bit more

Pass, watches are more than just a chunk of metal as you know. They have meaning, memories, and are symbolic. All for different reasons to different people.

You don't have to like them...but you do have to trust them in order to make the purchase. But given its not a steal, you should be able to find both (like and trust) in a seller. So, I vote pass.

Interesting. I thought I was just being over sensitive, but it appears most would do the same as I'm doing. I'm not saying the watch I'm considering. Not fair to the seller. I just don't agree with the majority of the posters comments.

I will say it isn't Greg. Narcissist

Mik...you are not being overly sensative...
no matter what piece, its still a bit (or a lot) of money out of your pocket and you want to buy the entire package...seller, watch, experience..

Like C.E. says above..these pieces mean more than just steel..its a living thing to us WIS

I know I can get a better deal somewhere but if I am buying from a friend, I don't mind them making some money...

Unless its the 390 at like $2500...
