A mysterious scratch at a center link. Is it normal?

My Rolex get scratched at a center link. You can see the picture below.

A salesperson at the AD I bought this watch told me that it is caused from friction between the links, and this is normal. But I doubt it.

Actually, it was worse than the picture, I have it polished at the AD so it looks better now.

Is it true that normal usage can cause this scratch? Does this happen to all Rolex watches that use oyster bracelet? If so is there anyway to prevent this?

Thanks.

if it is at the end of the bracelet, where it touches the clasp than it is normal.

but in the middle where it can't touch the clasp or something else I've never seen this before

It is connected to the last permanent link which is connected to the clasp.

Could it be the clasp touching the top of a link when the easylink is extended and seen when the easylink is closed?

I must admit that I put a small piece of stick tape on the top of the last link to prevent the clasp from making a line across the top of this link.

IMO this is a design error.

Thanks. My watch is Sub No Date, it uses Fliplock, doesn't have the easy link.

I think it is fine. If you want to enjoy your watch (I have the same one) just don't worry about the scratches.

The clasp might still score the link depending on where the micro adjustment is set.

I think somebody mightn't see the scratch, it's at the edge of the link (at the right-hand side). I don't think it is caused by touching with the clasp.

This link is at the 6 o'clock side.

Is it normal that your Rolex gets scratches? At the risk of being obvious, of course it is.

Something caused it, but mine never do that on their own!

Looks like something was between the links, and then the link was opened causing an indent.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. The bracelet, no mater what you do, is going to get some scratches between the links, with all the rubbing that occurs from wearing the watch, friction is sure to cause something somewhere.

But if you feel OCD enough that it causes you insomnia, take ti back to the AD and see if they will exchange it for you, but I bet you'll end up getting the same or similar scratches sooner or later.

Bracelets are raw metal............. they are going to scratch......all the time...

I don't really see your scratch........... but, chasing these things can be quite a frustration..............

Many thanks every reply.

I think scratch is not the right word, I think it's a ding rather than a scratch.
You can see the picture below it is at where the left arrow points to.
