Cartier Santos Medium

Hi,

Just wanted to get feedback on the Santos De Cartier Watch (medium). Debating on getting that for my next time piece.

I currently own Batman, Sub w/date, TT DJ41, speed master (first moon), panerai marina.

Thanks for the feedback.

It’s a great watch, awesome to round the collection with a nice Cartier.

I love my Santos. Based on your current collection, I feel like the sizing of the Large may be a better fit unless you specifically intend for the Santos to wear significantly smaller than the rest of your watches.

I have a lot of the same watches as you and I absolutely love my medium santos. If you’re looking to buy, I suggest shopping around. Discounts can be had. I got a good one and it was much easier than I anticipated.

Also budget another 3-400 for a croc strap. The calf skin tan strap that comes with the watch is also fantastic. I suggest watching some YouTube videos on the watch if you already haven’t because I think that photos don’t do it justice. It’s really a classy piece and probably the best watch you can get in the 6-8k dollar range that isn’t a speedmaster.

At around 7" or smaller, the medium can work. My wrist is 7" but I prefer the large. My wife has the medium. Really a matter of preference. Either way, a great watch.

The santos is a magnificent watch. I have a 7” wrist and wear a large. The ability to quickly change straps and adjust the sizing of the bracelet is amazing. Only thing is the polish bezel is a scratch magnet!

The Medium is akin to wearing a 36mm round watch, just my 2 cents

I've had a Large one for almost 2 years, still wearing it regularly, blue dial

Just to show the large in a more sporty version, I purchased a strap from the ADLC to make it a bit more casual.

As someone noted, the strap change system and bracelet adjustment is the best I have seen.

I have the large in blue. It's fantastic and rounds out my collection (Omega seamaster Rolex Skydweller Tag Link Chrono)

Have been tempted numerous times. The Hodinkee reviews on this by Stephen Pulvirent I found helpful. One day perhaps I’ll own.

If you like the fit of an OP36 the Santos Medium will fit great. Imo the smaller size suits the feel and character of the timepiece, it supposed to be classy and understated

Totally agree here. The large is just a different watch IMO, still great, but different. For my 6.5 wrist the medium is perfect. I will say though -- alot of people tout it as an all rounded. To me it doesnt feel at home with jeans and a t shirt. This is a dress watch for sure. I'm sure others may disagree, though.

I have the medium and a 7.25” wrist. I tried on both sizes and it was a difficult decision as both looked great. Went with the medium as That size lends itself to more formal attire.

I’m glad I bought it. It’s a really cool watch. I wear sizes from 36-42, if that helps.

My advice it to try both sizes.

I had the large Santos and have a 7.25 inch wrist. It wore a little large. I am thinking about getting a medium. Square wears bigger, so a 35mm square is the same area as about a 39mm round.
