Rolex 6694
New to me 1970 Rolex 6694.
Thanks to TRF as I was able to research this reference in forum archives. So many dial and handset variations. Apologies for the poor photo. |

Looking good OP, the hands should be lumed but its ok. Parts are very abundant and it isnt a big deal on a 6694

No-lume hands match the no-lume dial, all good IMO. It's not unusual to find T SWISS T dials that were used to make no-lume watches. Seems crazy, but just another example of Rolex frugality. :-)

The watch wears very comfortably with its slim case. I find the 7835 bracelet carries the weight of the watch perfectly. Appreciate all the kind words. |

The last of the vintage manual wind 34's. I have the predecessor to the 6694. A 1957 6494. |

I was curious about the price differential of my manual wind 6694 vs the equivalent Rolex perpetual offerings of the time.
I discovered this thread with a 1972 UK price list. Close enough for comparison sake. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=710661 1972 prices - UK: 6694 / 69 5700 / 85 1500 / 115 Certainly the 6694 was an affordable option for many. Would anyone know what the equivalent 34mm Tudor Prince Date sold for in 1972? Curious as to what the price would be compared to the 6694. Last edited by paul cbc; 16 December 2023 at 10:05 AM.. Love your watch OP - such a clean look! Always find myself looking at these on ebay, after seeing one of these threads. Then have to kick myself that when I tried some, many years ago, I just felt I needed something bigger. And in these intervening years, I haven't got any smaller!

looking for the missing link 6694
Hello All
My late father passed on his watch to and the bracelet was too small, I did manage to acquire one from a very nice chap in Canada, but my wrist is still growing, Does anyone from the forum have a spare link or know where I can get one from? My watch is the Oysterdate Precision 6694 steel with black face, made in 4/68 many thanks Graham |

With its slim profile, the watch wears very comfortably. Sits in between my older 34mm OP and a 36mm Rolex mid case. |

Please see attached representative photos. In this case it is a 7835 bracelet with 357 endlinks-see bottom right picture. Hope this helps. |

There are usually folded links for 7835 bracelets on eBay. Measure the width of the narrowest links (near the clasp) and buy one or two that are the same width as those. The will probably cost you $50-$100 each.

Revised: With its slim profile, the 1970 6694 wears very comfortably. Sits in between my 1987 34mm OP and a 36mm Rolex mid case. I also wanted to give some better information regarding case size: 1970 6694 measures about 34.5 mm diameter. 1987 34 mm OP measures about 34 mm diameter. |

Interesting the older one is a touch bigger. Honestly; I am finding my latest Tudor 76100 a bit small, so despite the dial size on these; I just don't think I can do it, which is a shame as there are some lovely ones on the market at the moment!
