My First Rolex..6694/1225

Hello everyone,

This is my first Rolex A vintage precision . Also new to the forum as well.
Not as big, not as new but the thrill of owning a genuine Rolex was and is still there. As I had little history but was only told this watch sat in a jewelers safe for 5 years purchased at a watch mart prior, it amazed me that the old girl started up immediately when winding. In fact the time loss (about a minute or two) every other day(kept tabs) was awesome at least to me. Knew that to preserve my baby had to have service. So sadly after two weeks I parted with
my new acquisition.

My watchmaker told me the history of service should be somewhere on the back. I believe the marking '99 see pix, does that mean last date of service 1999? This is a new learning experience for me. Serial number dates watch to '81.

In any event hopefully in another 3 weeks My baby will be home cleaned polished, new seals, mainspring, cleaned and oiled.

A vintage watch for a vintage man..for me..perfect.:)1.JPG

I bought a 6494 I believe as my first, same as yours but no date, with a black dial and gold lettering. Anytime I pick it up I just love looking at it, it will be my watch for life.
