How does your Seiko Monster 'wear'.......

... in comparison to your Rolex (or other watch)?

I used to have an Explorer II & a DJ but the DJ always felt small & never got any wrist-time.

If I wear a Monster as my daily work-watch/'beater' I'm slightly concerned that my GMTIIc (&/or any other Rolex) will feel small after.

Has anyone else found this??
...or do they 'wear' so differently that a comparison is almost irrelevant

They're not readily available in the UK so I'll be ordering online without ever having seen one 'in the flesh' (let alone tried one on) so I'd welcome your comments.
(as well as any alternative recommendations for a cheap, "fun?", reliable & automatic 'beater').

Thanks for your help guys.

would not feel small... but i reckon it would feel light...
monster's a solid, heavy watch... but you wouldn't mind it for sure!
can't go wrong with the monster! as mentioned numerous times, you get so much watch for the price! go for it!!!!!

do get the one on SS bracelet.. then you could get the rubber strap after (this would be cheaper than doing the reverse). or, get a Nato (just like what i did... or will do... ordered already from Singapore and just waiting for my friend to actually get it)...
goodluck!

Dan, I love my monster but I have had some issues regarding your initial question. I thought it was really big and bulky when i first wore it and it took some getting used to but after a week or so i got used to it. Now I have worn it so long without rotating my sub or expII that anything else just feels small....I guess i need to put this monster up for awhile but i cant take it off!
Hope that helps!

Don't worry Dan....as good as Monster undoubtedly is....you will not be putting your new GMT in storage or up for sale.

Monster feels TOTALLY different from my 2 rolex....

Monster is a Land Rover Defender...... your GMT is a Range Rover supercharged!!!!!

Go ahead,it was made for, hands on, Recycling Execs!!!!

I like the weight of the monster, it seems similiar to my GMT IIc, the main differance is the bracelet, I can tell they are not solid links. I wear OM for work during the week and wear my GMT often too. I don't see a big problem going back and forth. I bought mine without trying it too, I don't think the size of the watch is so far off of the GMT either, Great watch!

Whoa Dan...did you get a new GMTIIC??? I must have missed it. Did you post pics?

I wear my Monster on ZULU NATO. I need to get the bracelet resized, but I have been too lazy.

You will LOVE your new Black Monster !
I definitely notice that after wearing my black monster for a few weeks, then switching back to my Omega Seamaster (the 42MM Bond watch) that it defiantly feels a bit smaller prior to me waring the monster.
However, that shouldn't be a problem. You will love the Monster, it's my everyday watch (I'm wearing it right now actually :) ).

Cheers Vernon!

Funnily enough I'm wearing a (Quartz, blue) Bond-Seamaster right now but it's going on ebay at the weekend.....
I just sold my eighteen month old black one on ebay last week & got £760 & it was only £1,085(ish) new!

Who says you can't beat a Rolex for holding it's value....?

Dan, you'll absolutely love the BM. I find mine a little heavier than my sub and speedy, but not a big difference. I only notice for a few seconds after I've changed watches. I can't wait to see some pics. Wait until you see that lume in person, amazing

I have an OM on rubber, I love it! It has a well earned and desrved cult following I think, OM, black or any of the other funky colours one can find, it is a great watch and bats well above it's price!

I find my Monster wears lighter than would be expected. I use either the OEM rubber band, a Bond Nato strap, or a SS mesh band with it.

Gave away my Monster on Rubber strap to a friend and just got another on the bracelet. Wears very nice, a little heavier than my GMT IIC but feels fine. The bracelet is nicer and heavier than I thought it would be, great quality for the price paid.

My wife knew that my Monster was due to be delivered by mid-day today.

I asked my wife at 11.55 if it'd arrived & she said "No not yet" so I then asked "Can you check the post-box (at the end of our driveway) for an 'attempted delivery' card honey?"

At 14.00 my wife informed me that an attempted delivery had indeed been made, but by the time she'd checked the post-box the holding depot was closed.

The delivery had been attempted while my wife was having 'girl-time' with her buddies or something I guess.

I'm not sure wether to cry or shoot her.

LADIES I'M JUST KIDDING ABOUT THE SHOOTING PART OK?!?

I love mine! It is a little loose, because I am in Afghanistan and can't adjust the watch any further than I have, without anymore tools.
