Bracelet Link Removal
I ordered the proper screwdriver from Rolex (through a AD) for removing links on a Sub C. Can anyone provide any additional advice for the actual screw removal process? I see some use steam to soften the loctite but was thinking I would run that link under hot water. Also I know I need three links removed so what's the best method to have the clasp centered? Obviously I could just make the links equal but still wanted to ask. Thanks in advance...

I doubt hot water will suffice to loosen the Loctite. Read my reply in the other thread: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=328112
Regarding the centering of the links. You most likely will only have one available link to remove at the 6 o'clock side, so you'll have to take 2 from the 12 o'clock side. Start with the link furthest removed from the clasp, to avoid taking a functional link (for the wetsuit ext.) You may be able to set the clasp to the smallest position and just remove 2 links (1 and 1).

For heating the screw threads, I use a butane lighter and hold it for 3 seconds. That does the trick to loosen up the Loctite.

I touch a hot soldering iron to the end of the screw for a second or two; very localized heat.
Centering the clasp usually takes a bit of trial and error so hold off on reapplying the Loctite until you get it the way you want it...
