AP ROO RC confusion?

Just picked up a ROO RC with the white face. I was told by the AD that this was the brand new model 2013/2014. When looking online on the AP website the only Rubberclad model pictured is the black face with white dials.

Can anyone confirm the difference. I was under the impression that the RC came in both the black or white face.

The model number I have in the owners documents is:
26940SK.00.D002CA.02.A

Does that mean the white date wheel ones are older models?

Pretty sure the white dial rubberclad was discontinued in 2012? New watch in the dealer's case, just no new ones being produced by AP. unless you get lucky most watch sales people know or care very little about what they're selling sadly.

White/Silver dial Rubberclad's were discontinued… Only black dial face lifted piece now, and rose gold with a darker grey dial and black date wheel. Both models got subdial white gold/rose gold rings around them and arabic numeral borders :)

I like the white dials! classic

Thanks for the clarification.... What do you mean by lifted when you say black dial face lifted piece? And were the white face subdials and Arabic numerals not outlined in white gold? I also thought I read somewhere that the new version has white numbers instead of green?

Okay

Face lifted which meant, updated models pertaining to the black dial and rose gold rubberclads. They made some nice changes

On the white dial no there aren't any white gold surrounds, it's black outline and the ap/audemars piguet writing is black . On black dial same black outline but white ap/audemars piguet instead of the new dial verion with a shiny applied ap in white gold.

Btw all of the original rubber clads had a white/off white Arabic numerals. They have a slight greenish hue from the great lume which always shows a glow or some charge

If you look at pics online you'll see they really vary from watch to watch, I'd venture to say some have changed color due to tons of sun exposure and age as well

Thanks for all the info... That helps.

I wish the AD had given me all this info!

When I walked in I specifically asked for the latest AP ROO RC and she confirmed the white dial she was selling me was part of the 2013/2014 collection... Being that this is the largest AP AD in Toronto I trusted I was being given the right information and purchased the watch only to come home and see that this particular model wasn't even on the AP website at which point I came to realize that this was in fact a discontinued iteration of the watch. My sale receipt clearly shows no refunds and no exchanges... I guess I'm stuck with this one... That's unfortunate considering the price and caliber of such a brand that the official resellers would provide wrong information!

Well

Being that I have the legal state of mind, there are always ways to get out of your commitment regardless of their no refund or exchange policy.

The watch was misrepresented to you by their salesperson. I'd bring that up to the store owner

Just a quick question, why do you feel however that you'd need to return it? Or do not want it anymore? It's still such a very nice watch , I personally love it, who cares if it's discontinued!

I definitely want a ROO RC! I absolutely love this watch! My only concern is that I wasn't partial to the white or black dial.. I think they are both spectacular.... I was more partial to the idea of getting the latest iteration of this watch.... The slight changes that were made are in my opinion a nice update... More importantly... I feel that in making such a purchase there should be no scenario where one feels that they were misinformed and find out after the fact... This is an expensive luxury brand and the information provided while purchasing such an item should be accurate and provide the customer with the comfort of making an informed decision without any post purchase regrets based on being mislead.

Having said all that... If I were to find myself in a position where the option of switching to the revised model wasn't extended to me I would still be absolutely thrilled with my watch... But disappointed with the way the AD dealt with me and the overall experience.

I totally agree, no one wants to feel like they've been misinformed/mislead/duped with a big purchase like that, hell any purchase where you are relying on the expertise of the salesman!

I suggest bringing it to their attention, and trying to rectify the situation. Just so you know, that is the 'current' model for the white dial, but because it's discontinued lol. If you wanted black or rose gold, obviously not !

Let me know what happens, you can email me with any questions too rufgt2@gmail.com
