Rolex and their nicknames!
Here's the thing.. i've noticed a lot of Rolex specially sports models have their own nicknames coined by Rolex lovers. example is the GMT Pepsi , GMT Coke, The Hulk, Batman, Platona etc etc... heck even the White ExplorerII has one & we call it Polar! But no love for the Rolex ExplorerII black dial and i got to admit that i'm a little jealous lol!!! since this is my one & only Rolex. I decided to give its own nickname and hopefully one of these days it would just catch fire and people would just call it the Diet Coke
Agree or disagree? other nicknames or suggestions are more than welcome |

Have to agree afraid today it seems with many that silly nicknames are far more important that the history of Rolex or the watches.
Nicknames.

the Hulk is the only one minus coke and pepsi that i would immediately know what you are talking about if i was not already familiar with the watches... the rest fill the need to have pet names for our possessions.
For example i always associate batman with black and yellow... not blue and black as do probably everyone else under 40 so its not universal like "Hulk" and not immediately apparent to everyone.

i just nickname the entire brand ALS... because my german pronunciation sucks
Its unfortunate it shares the same initials as a terrible disease though as talking about how awesome ALS is can be taken out of context pretty easily.

You own a Rolex. Forget the nickname and leave well-enough alone.

Really bro???? You've been around here more than a day. You honestly haven't seen the other ridiculous threads on this or maybe considered using the search function.
Because this is just completely absurd, with all due respect. |
