YM40 Rhodium for a Rolex Datejust Wimbledon Dial

I have had my YM for about 3 years now and it has pretty much just been sat in the watchroll for the past 8 months or so now..
Another watch on my list to one day purchase is a Rolex Datejust Wimbledon Dial or else a fluted blue Datejust.
So now I'm thinking about selling my YM40 to purchase the DJ, I'm pretty heavy on the sport watch side and I don't want another one but I dont have a decent dress watch.

Do you think its a good idea to offload the YM for a DJ?
Or should I just keep the YM

Just looking to get some opinions really..

It's unlikely a YM will cost much more than list over the coming years, so even if you did sell it, you could always re-buy if you regret the sale. If I owned it and wasn't wearing it, I thank it for its service and sell.

If you’re not wearing it much and it’s already in your head to use it as a trade bait….the feeling will never go away. Trade for what you will wear is my motto

I sold my YM to buy a Sub and I regretted it big time. So I bought the YM back, and kept the Sub. I'd like a DJ myself, but won't let go off my YM ever again. Seller's remorse is a terrible thing.

If you are tired of the YM, call one of our trusted sellers, and make a trade for a brand new Wimbledon. Easy peasy…

I had a YM Rhodium an sold it before the craze to fund another watch. I regret selling it.

I sold my blue dial YM and kinda of wish I hadn't but since I added the 228238 with silver dial so it was worth it to me but likely will get one again. It is a beautiful watch. I have bought and sold 3 DJ, they are nice too but never stuck with me.

I would personally do it. The Wimbledon Fluted on Jubilee is something special… just hits different when wearing it.

I think you would be making a mistake if you traded the YM and I’d say keep it

Thanks for the feedback all, I'm going to sit on the YM for another while.
My other half doesn't want me to sell it either she loves it, think deep down she wants it.

I will pick up a Datejust eventually not in a major rush.

I have both the blue dial YM40, & a fluted TT DJ on a jubilee with a Wimbledon dial.

Both pieces are fantastic, & for me a personal preference over any sub or gmt model.

You have a very sports watch heavy collection as you say, but have you ever viewed your YM as a dress watch? That platinum bezel & the PCL’s can shine beautifully after a buff up with a microfibre!

If the YM isn't getting any wrist time and you want a DJ, it sounds like an easy decision to make.
