Something snapped while winding
I had never experienced this,
About a week ago the watch had been sitting there with some power reserve left but in order for it not to die I decided to give it some extra wind(I don't wear it daily), when suddenly on my 15th or so wind something snapped followed by the second hand going in reverse like 10 seconds and suddenly coming to a stop. It hasn't worked since. I purchased my D series in 2011 and have not serviced yet. Any input as to what may have had happened is highly appreciated. |

Broken mainspring? You'll need the services of a watchmaker to diagnose this for sure. Good luck!

Yep, that's a broken mainspring for sure. If your watch was due for service it's no biggie since the mainspring gets replaced automatically with each service anyways.

You were right! Had I known this was the problem and that it was a routine replacement I would have had it serviced, instead I took care of the single problem and for a fraction of the price more I could had have a lot more done in servicing it alone. I've read your post on everything you do for scheduled services Vanessa. Ps I just read the replies to my post. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
