Pelagos question
Hope this isn't a stupid question but here goes. My grandsons 18th birthday is upcoming and he asked me for my Pelagos (which he knew was earmarked for him anyway at some stage) Thing is, the date change doesn't click in until nearly 12:30. Is this something my local RSC (Lunn's in Belfast where I bought the watch)would rectify under warranty or should I leave well and enough alone? This doesn't bother me but I'd like to see it closer to 12 for him if you know what I mean.

Last time I checked this is a watch forum where people ask / debate things about watches...? Not every question may be the best but still...
@OP : I would speak with RSC / AD. It doesnt sound right, especially if it takes 30 more minutes to click in place. Something may be off - better get it checked out. This should be under warranty me thinks |

It really should change very close to 12:00. Or within 1 to 3 minutes of it I would say. So 12:30 seems a bit off. I would guess this is a warranty covered issue if warranty is still in effect. You should call RSC and inquire.

Take it to your AD before the warranty runs out.

I would take it to the AD and let them check it out. How is the watch running? Is it keeping good time? Factors in choosing a service as well as any warranty available. Good luck and let us know how this works out.

Which generation Pelagos? ETA or in-house? This is an important detail.

Two lines of text is the E2824 movement, 5 lines of text is the later in-house movement. Personally, I don't think that a date change at midnight-thirty is worth disassembling the watch to address regardless of the movement. When the date changes has no affect on the watch functionality or timing.

Just spoke to service department in Belfast. Will be sent to Tudor for fix under warranty, approx 6 - 8 weeks. Thanks to that replied.

Watch arrived back from Tudor last Tuesday but only managed to collect yesterday so away for 4 weeks. Date flip fixed under warranty and now changes at a respectable 2 minutes past 12.

I always wanted to ask this she. I see this brought up. Does a date changing at 10 or 20 or 30 past midnight really matter? Does it affect the function of the watch to not change it? Does it indicate something else wrong with the movement?
I personally don’t care as long as it switches sometime overnight. But wondering if there is a reason I should. |
