PVD Fading / Chipping on Ceramic Bezel inserts?

It has been mentioned on the forum a few times that the Platinum / Gold used for the markers on the ceramic bezel insert can fade and eventually wear off. Is there any truth to this? Is this a common issues? Just curious...

I guess I will follow up if I have an issue. Just wondering if it is common in any way...

I have something going on with mine.. Looks like it's marked but I can live with it so it doesn't bother me too much.
