A fair price on any watch is when the buyer and seller are both happy with what they got. As far as what something is worth or what the going prices are this is best to do YOUR homework wisely.Look at recent final sales ,auction results and watches currently advertised for sale. Compare condition and quality and use this and other facts as a basis for what the current market is. It can be allot of leg work and time consuming but since you are buying a watch and want to know the fair price this is the best way I know of.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as fair price by model number, the spread of condition is just too wide.. so on a good day you might find a round caseback outside the accpted range at say $13-k.... or a correct range with chipped dial and polished lugs and mismatched hands at $18k... or a mint dial with average case at $23k or a minter at $28k...but then any of those may come from an original owner so maybe add a bit more, or maybe from a lash up merchant on ebay so take a bit off, they may be servcied in the last 5 they may not - quite important in a drsd because its at service the chips can happen..... so you end up with a spread even on that example of MAYBE $13-28k... condition, detail, provenenace... if you add original box and papers put up to 30%-50% on top....

unfortunately all you can do is look around the market at what is avallable at any given point and decide at what level you are looking and try and average out where they are from what you can see.
