Any UK members who work as consultants?

If you do you have probably seen the new general Tax Avoidance rules effectively closing down tax arbitrage structures Link to HMRC statement here.

I guess many people will go abroad resulting in even more loss to the Treasury and UK Plc People who aren't in the UK don't pay things like VAT, stamp duty, insurance premium tax, local government tax, national insurance tax, tobacco and alcohol duty, TV licence etc.... It means those left here will pay more basically

I'm sure structrue providers are frantically trying to come up with the "next big thing" in tax avoidance.

Very keen to hear from other UK members who work as self-employed or on a consultancy basis what they think of the situation, it's certainly an interesting one.
