My new 6536-1 james bond.
hey all, here are a couple quick shots of my new NCG sub.
Has a beautiful and near perfect tritium dial and hands with a dark orangish yellowish color and the faded insert is to die for. tropic crystal looks excellent and the movement is all original 1030 with beautiful butterfly rotor and the movement is super clean. Keeps excellent time, gaskets are all good and re oiled but I would never swim in it or get it wet ever... searial numbers are are visibal and the lugs are fairly strong. 0 pitting or corrosion on the case. the bezel is original to the watch from 1955. its all brass, the plating has worn off. it will be enjoyed |

i think the grey nato really looks better on this watch because of the faded insert.
doesn't look to bad for a 56 year old. |

The bezel minus the plating works well with the colour of the markers and hands. Have to agree, not bad for a 56 year old.

I want to thank all of you for all the kind words!
the only thing that I just located and purchased is a tritium dot for the bezel insert. which is needed. Also, because the bezel itself being so old, I guess the lip of the bezel has worn away over the years and will not hold much of a presure fit for the insert anymore, which happens on these old watches, so the insert needs to be held in by a little cement glue which comes in a hypo tube.. I read that this is very normal for older watches, I could track down a NOS bezel for this watch, but I decided to leave it because I love the age of the bezel and how its all brass. I think it would also hurt the value if I had a newer produced rolex bezel on this watch. best to keep it as original vintage as possible. well it deffinitley won't be a beater! |

I don't know what it is about the closed minute track that really does it for me! That is a great looking watch, and a beautiful patina!

thanks again guys!
Hey, do any of you know if the bezel on a 6536-1 is alittle bit larger then the bezel on a 6536? I know the main difference is the case is a bit thicker on the 6536 compared to the 6536-1, but my bezel seems to be a bit larger. |
