The romance of trying on a birth year watch
Hi guys, just received my birth year 1680 red Mk6 a few hours ago and thought will capture my experiences while they are still crisp in my mind. Was the best feeling ever, peeling the Fedex box and having a feel of the original documents from my birth year. Also unwrapped the neatly packed 9315 bracelet with the swimpruf tag and a NATO band that will try on later. Opened the good old vintage box feeling like a pro Oyster pearl hunter cautiously prying it open and finding a surprisingly pristine condition red staring back at me, was dumbfolded, I could have mistook it for new. The feeling of putting on a birth year watch is unbelievable, like a long lost part of your being now sitting pretty on your wrist. Although need to figure out how to take a few links off with the tool that's included, I put it on any way and tried it round the block and in the sun, awesome feeling and the light patina subtly stands out giving it a classy look. Feel like a kid in a candy store while now typing this with it on my wrist, just that the sole candy is on my wrist;).
What have your experiences been when unpacking and trying on a birth year vintage for the first time? |

Congrats SAN! I, myself, am still waiting for that day to come! If only I was born a year later I'd be going after a red myself. She'll have to wait a little while, but I still plan on getting her. Wear her in good health.

Thanks Pete, you mean you were born a year later so that would mean a white sub 1680? Whichever it is, I can promise you in a experience to treasure:)
