I'm hoping I can post these photos or it will be a very short report!

These are some pics from last weekend when I went to the Isle of Wight with my GF - it was my birthday on the Friday and we decided to spend the weekend here. The great thing is it took just 2 1/2 hours from her place to the hotel - we drove to the southern coast (Portsmouth) and took a ferry across to the isle.

Here are the pics (fingers crossed!)

The private beach of our hotel - really quiet and great for spending quality time. You could easily believe that this was a caribbean island or somewhere else in the world.....not just off the coast of England!

Did you hook up with Nick on the Isle? (isn't he there? why isn't he here??)

BTW, island in the Caribbean? Have you been there? Not a chance mon ami. No miles of white sand, no palms and worst of all, no topless babes in thongs.

But looks lovely, particularly the white cliffs!!

What a beautiful place, Shane. The pictures are great. The cliffs, the hotel... looks like a great way to spend a few days.

It's a great weekend destination and you feel like you're not in England anymore (well, I suppose this is true!)

Johnny - Nick wasn't on the island unfortunately, but I'm sure I can hook up with him there next year.

Unc - I can get you a hat like mine if you like? :-)

I keep trying to persuade him but to be fair he has been very busy and had other things on his mind. Maybe we get get him on board soon.

Great Picture Shane that one of you looks very dramatic, had a few
holidays myself there when I was a boy.In them days it was like going
abroad,a great island with a lot of history.
