It was binned. The watch was fake.

Very bad taste left. Thanks to Welsh and Freem for pointing out some, now, very obvious 'signs'. It will still go for authentication on Monday and seller has agreed to refund on receipt of independent authentication report showing it to not be genuine.

Am more embarrassed than anything else, at the time I was able to find very similar dials for sale online and the 'complete package' seemed to tick most of the boxes I was looking for. I am sincerely sorry to everyone for posting the pics before authentication, really was bad form and will update on Monday when I get some closure.

This is already becoming a very long weekend.

Terrible news. I hope you can get it sorted out and don't lose money on this debacle.

Dial and crown were dead giveaways. Dial could have been remanufactured but didn't look right. The crown was too small.

Yeah they didn't look right but I didn't want to say anything might get flamed on, especially the poster already said he is going to get it authenticated.

I for one, despite noticing differences in the dial, didn't see the signs of the watch not being genuine. It happens to everybody and at least we know you'll be able to get a full refund after the authentication.

You definitely do not need to apologize, it's not like you wanted us to fall into some sort of trap and we could see how excited you were about that watch. I wish you the best of luck with everything and as far as long as the lesson is learned all is well in my book (or, at least, it will be when you get your money back).

Hi there - I recallyou mentioning that you had originally sourced the watch for the seller from Christies?

If that is the case then clearly you should shave all the paper trail and recourse with Christies if the seller refuses to refund you?

And after seeing a fake 6265 he offered someone privately via email GedgeDS is no longer with us. His whole story was nonsense. He told one person he bought the watch from Christie's for a client of his in another email. This clearly was nonsense just like the whole thread in the first place. Fake watch, fake story, pure horse sh-t. If you guys want to believe it have at it. For me it is bye bye Troll...another one bites the dust.

PS. He also offered his fake 1579 for $20k GBP to a member. What a bargain!!

That story ended very badly and leaves quite a sour taste in my mouth. As far as I'm concerned lesson is learned and with those details I can only say I'm glad to see this member gone...

Thank you Ken and the other moderators.

Buys a 2499 and asks if he should send it to Patek or some other place to get it serviced.
