SS Divers + FC Divers...Yes or No?

Gentlemen, this is my first post on this Forums. I'm a bit confuse and need some advice to decide my next move.

Here it goes : I already have SS Divers and I have been eyeing FC Divers for sometimes. Since I read on this forums that FC Divers will be discontinued, so I'm kind of worry if I don't buy it now, I won't be able to find the new FC Divers to buy in the future. I'm not gonna sell my SS Divers, so the question is :
1. should or shouldn't i buy the FC Divers since my AD is having it reserve for me?
2. having two AP Divers, same movement but different materials...stupid or ridiculous?

Look forward for some comments....

If you can afford having both, why not? They will be substantially different given the different case material. I say do it! But... I do prefer the ceramic with orange accents more.

I would not have two Divers, I would rather have a different model but if you like the FC more than any other then go for it.

Both

I traded my SS diver towards the FC and while I LOVE my FC diver I still miss the SS. They both might be the same model but they look and wear very different. I still think the FC is the best of all the divers.

There are many people on this forum with both a SS and gold Rolex Sub. Why not have a SS and FC diver?

dude i've owned all 3 at the same time (no white diver, sorry Paul) and they are all so very different (at least to US). others who aren't so into watches might not see the differences but even between the FC and the Ceramic there are enough differences to make em different watches. unfortunately most will only see the yellow and orange being the difference between them but YOU will know.

and YES i absolutely think the SS and an alternative material Diver can co-exist. the SS because it's shiny and in steel can be a dressed up watch (think putting it on bracelet? it's not for me but it does look nice) while keeping the Blacker of the Divers as your more casual watch, or a "tool" watch (although a 20k+ as a tool watch sounds stupid, it works. my black divers are my "every day" pieces)

Each Diver wears substantially differently, IMO, that one could be justified in own all of them, should it suit their needs (and their wallet). For my part, I sold my steel Diver to fund the FC Diver, and while I'd do it again in a heartbeat, if I could have afforded to keep both, I certainly would have.

Adam

You sure can, if you like the Diver enough. Completely different watches. I only worry a little bit about mid to long term maintainability of the FC case given that it cannot be repaired. I assume AP will keep a healthy stock of them.

I think they are a doddle to make - simply a case of shoving some carbon flakes into a press - pushing a button. Done.

I guess you are right ... Even though that takes some of the mysticism out of it

I have stainless and ceramic and have toyed with flipping the stainless for a 44mm primarily to keep the collection down to a reasonable number that I can wear. But I like the ss too much to part with it so instead I will probably just add the 44.

I know if I traded the ss I would miss it and end up buying it again!

Stupid or ridiculous, I'm not sure which but it doesn't seem like you think its a positive to have both.

If you love that style then do it. I would want a contrast of styles but we are all different.

One diver is enough. But one rolex is not enough.

I know you love the Rolex by all of your posts here about it. Why do you think one should have only one AP, but multiple Rolex?

I didn't like the FC at first, but then fell in love. I wouldn't have two AP divers in one collection (then again my collection is under 10 references so it's relativley small!). Best.

Nothing like the Forged Carbon! Grab one before they get scarce, they are discontinued.

FC all the way. SS is too heavy and not comfortable.
