Animated Avatar

I've uploaded an animated GIF file for my avatar, but its not "animating". Is there a special GIF file that is needed?

Looks like not all animated GIFs works when using it as an avatar.

That is the reason why I stated that some GIFS are animating and some aren't. This is one of the GIFs that are animating

Animated avatars that 'blink' or 'flash' or are otherwise aggravating will be subject to moderation control.
An animated avatar is one intended to be in the nature of a movie such that it consists of many frames that are not each individually readily dissernable to the naked eye as still frame flashes.
An animated avatar which flashes several still frames may enter into the region of a 'blinking' or 'flashing' avatar and will therefore be subject to moderation in the discretion of the forum administrators/moderators.
The basic premise is that the general enjoyment of the majority of members is of primary importance, and that avatars can always be modified to make them enjoyable and compliment the forums.
I say this without reference to any person and as stated each avatar will be considered on a case by case basis.
Thank you

Thanks Steve for the explanation. The odd thing is that I was using the same GIFs from www.reddodo.com but not sure what I'm doing wrong when saving it as a GIF file.

An animated avatar which flashes several still frames that are dramatically different will enter into the region of a 'blinking' or 'flashing' avatar and will therefore be subject to moderation in the discretion of the forum administrators/moderators.

The avatar must be 50kb or less in size.
So if your gif is more you need to put it into a program that will reduce it's size.
It is kind of like you getting a 4megapixel photo out of your camera and then putting it into photoshop or some other program to reduce it's size (but not viewable quality) to something like 100kb.

If anyone has an avatar they are tying to load, then maybe post it in this thread, as you would a photo and I'll see if I can help, or suggest a more tailored solution.

50KB, that could be my ticket. I'll try that tonight. Thanks again, Steve.
