I always marvel at the misinformation when reasonably accurate information is readily available.
The 6610 was introduced in approximately 1955 along with all of the new updated sports models to include the new 1030 calibre. The watch was replaced in 1959-1960 with the 1016 which featured the new 15xx calibre movement. ca. 1958 |

A good watch friend did a swap with me years ago that was equitable for both of us at the time. He was not wearing it at all and I had a watch that he also wanted that I could add some cash to and work it out. Since that time the price has sky rocketed but I don't intend on selling it so basically it's still the same. They seem to come in batches. There are a lot of them from this particular run and note the small dot seconds hand in silver. The ones in this serial range all seem to have this configuration. The hands have been re lumed by me but they had been done anyway. I tried to match the color and character of the dial figures. It's an excellent time keeper and basically a completely original watch. The crystal is the one that came on it I feel sure and it still retains the + crown. The case was polished only once when I serviced it and done professionally. It was such a nice condition watch and it was not in danger of being overdone that I decided on that. The satin was pretty much gone off the top of the lugs. If I had it to do again I might have just touched that up and left it but as it is....it is as if it were serviced by Rolex and vaulted. |

I love my 6610. It's getting very difficult to find one in good original condition. Here's mine, all correct with only a replaced crystal.
