Girlfriend as become a watch monster...
Hey guys,
So I've been with my girlfriend for about 2 years. She always been into fashion and stuff. But not really into watches. She's been through me as I've gone from 1 watch to 4. Ive made her a watch monster. She knows all the major brands and spot them from across the room. And now judges people by there watch brands. For example I'm a huge watch spotter. Well be at a bar and restaurant and for some reason i notice everyones watch. I just like to admire them especially when i see something special like an RM or PP. So ill say things to her like "check out the watch at that table" without even looking shell say things like "Yeah that daytona, i saw it like 10 mins ago when we first walked in" Due to this i always use her opinion on watches I'm considering next as well as dragging her around town to check out boutiques of watches I'm interested in. Has anyone made their girlfriend or wife a watch monster?

I could never get my wife into the hobby lol. She is perfectly content with her Michael Kors watches and Apple IWatch. I tried.

Mine is getting into them if they are meant for me to wear. She doesn't like to wear watches. She is into jewelry or jade bracelets... and handbags. I bought her a new LV that she wanted a month ago and has yet to wear it.

My fiancé is kind enough to listen to me and follow me watch shopping but her heart lies with shoes.

It's pretty corny that she would judge people based on their watch.
If you guys ran into me, I might be wearing a G-Shock........Or a 80K watch. |

Not negative way I would think. No reason to hate anyone becusse of there watch. It's more of the fact that she notices watches easily. Much more than the average person. We as watch people always notice a watch in let's say a Starbucks line or at a bar. It's just something we do. Just wondering if anyone sugnificant other has started doing that because of your watch hobby.

Your restaurant story reminded me of the time I was with some friends and I was staring at an IWC on the next table, first one I'd ever seen out of an ADs. My friends thought I was very rude and told me to stop looking at the man and his bill. What bill? I said, I was looking at his watch.

My wife got me into watches, we bought two nice watches at the same time her a ladies date just me a Tudor Sub, she watched my collection grow in seize and complexity. We sold her datejust a while back but next week she get a Gold Daytona, so she is back in the big game. She is knowledgable on watches but mainly Rolex.

Sorry Brandon,
Didn't mean to be a dick earlier. Had a long day, and when I saw the word judge I got upset. Yes, I turned my woman into a watch freak too. It backfired on me, now she has my 116613LN and 116505. On the bright side I can get as many watches as I want now because she has the 116505 to wear, and I don't get the dirty looks when I sneak home with a new box. I suggest sizing your GMT for her. You get to see it all the time since she will have it on her 24/7, and you don't have to leave her in the cold. It's more fun when the both of you have one together |

My wife will show me some pics on Instagram of watches she thinks will look good on me or her. But she has no clue of the references.

My wife was happily wearing her Kate Spade quartz monstrosity a few years ago. Then one time we were in Tokyo, and I bought a 3570.50, and asked the seller to resize my old 116200 so she could wear it just for the time being.
Now she has 2 Rolex watches :( |

I gave my wife the TT DJ I was wearing when we got married, I didn't think she would want it, she wears it constantly and has tried on a Grand Seiko that I have on a leather strap, both look really good on her wrist.
Does she appreciate horology? Nah. It is more because they are shiny.

My wife can recognize Rolex, not models, and that's pretty much it. I wish she was into them. I gave her my 36mm datejust and she never wears it.

My wife knows all the brands and can spot and discuss them with some knowledge. She is not into it but has heard so much from me over the years and has been to the AD's and seen many incomings.

I wish my wife was more into watches, or should I rephrase, I wish we could share this hobby, or any hobby for that matter. She does love her Vespa, she's just not going to learn about how it works and go to Vespa GTGs because she owns one. To her it's a tool, just like her Invicta diver she wears - just a tool. Maybe we're the tools?

According to my wife, all watches look the same just like all cars are identical.

My wife got into watches when i got my Rolex. Apparently my enthusiasm was infectious. She also came to appreciate the beauty of watches and the intricacy of watch making. Now she has a pretty sharp eye for watches in general. Looks like my next Rolex purchase will be for her!

My wife doesn't really care much one way or the other about watches. She doesn't wear them too often either.
