White Gold Day Date - Good Choice?
Hi guys,
I am really drawn to the white gold day date. 36mm: I like the stealthiness of the white and the contrast with silver sunburst dials. To those who have chosen the less common and more quiet route of WG on your DD, do you have any regrets? How does it hold up? Does it get noticed a lot less than yellow gold pieces? It's been a very long time since I've noticed much talk of the WG DD and I am very interested in it. Since I do not like the DD2 I have to go preowned, how is the market for WG DD v YG DD? |

I love WG as evidenced by the fact that I have one and less money in the bank! :)

I'm a big fan of WG. Less flashy and under the radar.

Great choice! Love mine, very under the radar and only noticed by those who are in the know. (Borrowed photo) mines an M series, so far no issues at all. Had the YG previously and didn't wear it as much as it was a little conspicuous.

It's quite a special feeling having WG as opposed to the flashier YG. Complete stealth.
The rest of my collection has rather fallen by the wayside since I got this. Absolutely no regrets |

I'm actually looking to trade a couple into this exact watch.
I've got a 116520 and a 216570 that would be used in the deal. What do you guys think? The 216570 is too large for me, and the white dial daytona is nice, but I constantly find myself in search of the day and date. |

Less flashy than YG or RG.
I had the same DD but with smooth bezel and wore it as a daily. A bit too small for me but the DD40 is looking like the perfect solution. As for the 36, pretty good deals to be had. |

I don't have a WG DD but I find my play DD2 is exceedingly versatile. One of the permanent members of my collection.

A white gold DD in 36mm is on my list - if I can discipline myself it will be my next watch - well - my next Rolex at least if you know what I mean.
I think it is a great choice. |

White gold is an excellent choice in my opinion. Not flashy or cheap looking as the yellow gold one that I had.

I love the WG DD! I personally would wait to try on a 40 before buying the 36

When I have worn my YG President, NO ONE, has noticed.
Which is typical when I wear Rolexes. I think it would be easier to sell the WG model, at the same price. So, depends on what you are paying for the WG model. And, if you are looking for ease of resale, nothing is easier than a SS Sub, followed by other SS sport models. |

I like the WG (and Pt) as understated watches; YG can be an attractive nuisance. It all depend on if you want to fly under the radar or not.

don't have a WG DD but have the sub and GMT. the WG thing really is awesome. the look, the feel, the weight is amazing and it holds up every bit as well as any SS watch
to me, really somewhat of a "myth" that the gold or even platinum models mark up so easy, all my watches and metals mark if they get hit by the right material and all show scratches whether SS or PM so how they hold up is not an issue, and is it awesome and amazing to wear, well you bet!! |
