Daily Wear Tudor dilemma
Has anyone else experience a similar dilemma
For some time I've been looking a round for daily wear such as a beaten up 70's Tudor sub 90910 or similar, I had a tip off that a watch maker had potentially one that was up for grabs, the case was described as battered with nick scratches and minus its strap, bezel missing and crystal scratched to kingdom come and the movement wasn't functioning. I gave the watch maker a call and after a few sentences the conversation turned to what I owned, how long had I been collecting etc I gave a brief rundown and tried to get the conversation back on track, long story short the watchmaker was intending to use the Tudor as a donor watch for spares unless I wanted to sell or part exchange one of my watches as a sweetener, I inquired how much he valued the beaten up Tudor at..... £1,800, I thanked him for his time and said id give it some thought.....I think it may have been all of 2 seconds ???? so there you have it just what I was looking for and yet so far away. Grrrrrrrrrr! |
