Hmm, depends on how much lower than the listed price. I could see this one being somewhat collectable because it has the Geneva Seal vs the PP seal of current ones. However, way above list for a 10 year old watch with only extract papers... not sure if I would go for that. If it floats your boat however, then go for it!

Have you seen DavidSW's 5712 for 53k? Not sure if its possible, but probably worth it, its new vs this is a 10yr old watch.

Seeing as you have a 5712 and maybe 15202 if I recall? No.

that would be correct.
but even for a 2009 model, given how the supply is so short on these even for current releases, i feel getting this one now would be a smart play.

inevitably, there's a likely scenario I'd let go of the 5712 or jumbo for a 5711R.

Without the Certificate of Origin it will be hard to sell later on down the line. Also, I think the seller usually asks a bit much for their watches.

Good luck,
David

Keep the 12, get the 11R. If funds needed sell the 202. Forget this one

You don’t know who “tinkered” with it over the past 10 years.

Even if you got it for 40K, it’s still a huge chunk of cash for a 10 year old 5711 without papers and god knows who did what when to it.

Can't you get a new one (gray market) for about $47?

Would never buy this boring watch above retail...But that's my own opinion. I would only buy it and sell it directly for a profit. Now the 5711R is a different animal...

I've held the 5711 steel many a time, but it's never evoked any sort of response from me and even less so at today's prices. 5711R is definitely the way to go IMO

I would pass on it because it doesn't have the original papers and not bec of the fact its 10 years old.

We all know that watches are engineered to run forever.

No papers is a deal breaker. Go for the 5711R
