Appears Rolex prices are going ... up
This is not scientific by any means, but I’ve always loaded my watches into the Chrono24 app and track their pre owned pricing from time to time ... just for sh!t$ and giggles. Again, this is not a true reading of the marketplace ... just an observation.
As was noticed by the TRF members, towards the end of summer Rolex pre owned prices seemed to be coming down. I thought, I’ll bet they will go up once we hit December (for the holiday season). It seems as though they are increasing. It will be interesting to track this through December into January. For reference, my watches went down to: BLNR - $15,900 DJ41 - $7,250 Submariner ND - $8,400 Here’s a screenshot of today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I use Chrono24 as one of many tools as nothing more than fun fodder. I have noticed the same trend. I also get notifications when any new 126710BLNR is added to see its asking price and how many are offered up. It’s not as infuriating when you are not in the market to buy a new watch. Since early fall, used is still $14.5ish and new is $15.5ish. There are always a few offers that push the overall average one way or another like models without warranty cards, etc... My entire collection of multi brands is up $2k from last month.

When people buy prices go up. Only buyers drive the market. I would expect a little rise during the Christmas season.

It’s a shame the actual realised price is not listed, I sell lots of watches and if you want to sell them you have to lower the advertised price if not they sit forever.

I would not be surprised if prices continue to rise through spring. Supposedly, watches sell strong for Christmas (expected) but through January too. Then at that point the enthusiasts begin speculating about Baselworld and what will change, be discontinued, etc. which keeps (some) prices high. Then right after Basel some prices shoot up/drop based on what is announced at Basel. Then summer slump into December. Then process begins again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So, does anyone know what the difference is between the black dial 126660-0001 & 0002 which is shown in the last 2 options out of the 4 options listed on Chron24 as seen below? I checked my card as wells doing a search didn't see anything but 126660, so just wondering.

Curiosity. I was asking about their differences, that's all. If you don't have anything positive to contribute, then don't reply.

I would be very surprised to see an increase in prices as I feel the market is due for a correction with a decrease.

Christmas purchases will always drive up the price. Once people stop buying after the first of the year, they will most likely drop again.

Well, David SW (who many like to refer to for pricing) is selling a Sept 19 BLNR for $14.6k so that Chrono price is WELL out.

I saw that but it was a pre owned (used) watch price and its gone already. His new BLNR is still the same $15,575. SDwatches and Takua are in the same $15.5-$16.1 range. Their inventory is moving and revolving at this price point. Market for this watch is largely unchanged since late summer. I think there was a black Friday sale for $150 off but thats now gone.

I am sorry, but my opinion is that prices are going down. I see on facebook groups and so on prices going down. 126710 BLNR now can be bought for 14k (asking price), whereas 2/3 months ago it was over 16.5k Same for 116710LN and 116710BLNR, going down... the black one is left unsold at 9.7 k whereas the second is about 12.5. But this is europe and prices are in Euro.... Subs black are selling for AD price, no overprice.

Oh, it's the watches that are worth all this money? Here I thought it was the stickers. I've been collecting the wrong things all along...

Prices obviously are a few $k off for used incomplete Rolex models. There are still a few highball $21k asking prices on there but these are the last of the "pie-in-the-sky" hold outs. These guys are less and less each month. The market has really spoken and set on where the new BLNR is. Honestly, easiest way to get a feel for what is going on is when you see DavidSW move his pricing point down is when a tangible change is happening. He knows the market. If you see David posting new BLNR for $10k, then the market has truly moved. Most times when buying new from David, I pay less than msrp 3 years ago so he is not always asking crazy money. He is a good barometer to follow the trends if you are in the market. |

The problem with trying gauge the market based on ASKING price, is that it means NOTHING.
Without knowing the REALIZED prices, and the inventory turns of grey dealers, you can’t derive anything meaningful. I know you were just posting for the sake of conversation, but it normally takes quite a while after a market softens before you see the asking prices dramatically come down. I could post my Deepsea in chronological 24 for $16,000...it would increase the average asking price of that watch but it means nothing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chrono24 is a joke. There's a reason why no one uses that to gauge the market. Prices at the major greys are definitely dropping still. Cheapest BLNR I saw was $13.5K Novem 2019

Same mistake people make when saying "they're (whatever it is) going for X amount on eBay" which isn't what they're actually selling for. I agree with this.

DavidSW is selling an unworn 116710BLNR for $17,075, which is much higher than an unworn 126710BLNR for $15,575.
