Separate the best from the rest - Champions only!

Happy Easter to you all. Just sharing my most recent pick up as I can’t wear it just yet. I don’t know how or have the proper tools to size it myself. Stay safe everyone.

Aloha to you all.

I’ve sized my Oyster bracelets with a small flat screwdriver. Very simple.

Happy Easter and congrats. Bond with the watch and pick up a nice 1.6mm hollow ground screwdriver and take care of business. Nothing to it if you go slow.

Buy a good quality tool if your doing it yourself. Watch some YouTube videos about how to do it. Please take your time to do this, no rush.

Don’t forget to heat up the part where the screw holds into to loosen up the loctite!

My advice is to pick up one of these for the job: https://www.esslinger.com/horofix-ge...djusting-tool/

It's easy enough, just take your time and work through it...imo it's a safer route than bringing it to a watchmaker or AD, unless you have one you trust, and having them do it. No one will take better care of your Daytona than you will.

No disrespect but...famous last words....unless you have a steady hand and tape the areas you don't want scratched and you can still screw it up and all the good intentions and advice noted here will be useless...as it is about now.

And I speak from experience.

Good luck!

Ben

Yeah, honestly I’d rather learn on a different watch. Lol.

There is someone here that I do trust so I’m just going to have to wait.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Thanks for the replies! I for sure will invest in some tools though as I do want to do learn how to do the basics.

Trust me. It's not a huge deal. I've actually had ADs scratch up my link/screw worse. I PREFER to do it on my own now. The biggest thing is purchasing the correct screwdriver. You need 1.6mm flat. A Panerai screwdriver actually works really well.

If you are very paranoid... Tape off the link, heat the link with a hairdryer first (this will loosen the Loctite), the screw should come out very easy. Remove the link from the longer side so the clasp remains relatively centered. Apply a small amount of Loctite into the link, re-screw, clean off any Loctite that may have oozed out of the link. Very easy.
