Are there functinally equivalent caliber 9001 knock-off movements?

Hi all.

I am looking at potentially buying a sky-dweller locally and with the shut-down of most places, proper authentication would be difficult at best. So I am curious to know if anyone is aware of functionally equivalent sky-dweller knockoffs floating out there. I understand that many of you will say that ideally I'd have the caseback off to examiner the movement, and that would be done as I have the right tools. However, looking at the movement alone doesn't necessarily give me the comfort level that I'd like since I won't have one for reference side-by-side. So the next level down would be functionality. I know the 9001 movement is relatively complex in that it utilizes the bezel in combination with the crown to set all the parameters and I am curious to know if the knock-off manufacturers have started to copy this yet.

Thanks

Yes, with ETA2836 movement. A quick googling will reveal.

Apologies for a late reply, but does the ETA 2836 allow for parameter adjustment via the bezel? Can't seem to find anything on Google that would indicate this to be the case.

First we do not talk about knockoffs in the Rolex watch forum and as far as I know there are no movements other than cal 9001 that functions the same

The ETA 2836 is just a simple calibre based on the ETA 2824 and while it not only has a date function, it also features a weekday window indicator nothing more.

Thank you. That confirms my understanding.

And only reason for asking was to learn how not to get burned when looking for a genuine piece. We all know the unfortunate reality of their existence. So who else better to ask than the experts here.
