Can a Daytona be a dress watch?

I have recently been thinking about purchasing a second Rolex.

I think for my next one, I would like something different from my Black Sub and could possibly double as a dressy watch.

After seeing a white SS Daytona on a client, another coworker and I debated the feasibility of the Daytona being a dress watch. He says it is purely a tool/sport watch. I disagree

What do you guys think?
Should I make this model my next addition?
(Pics will help)!

John

Do dogs chase cats?

Although it is a sport watch, I have comfortably worn mine with a suit.

ABSOLUTELY works as a dress watch. Of course, I'm a tee shirt and shorts kind of guy, but if you like it (and can afford it) get it!!

Not by the classic definition (small, simple and on leather).

That said, it will work fine!

No doubt. The black dial is dressier than the white one.

I have a white SS Daytona and I wear a suit and tie everyday. It looks fine as a formal watch. That is one of the things that attracted me to the Daytona. While it is a sport watch by definition, it looks great as a dress/formal watch as well. You cannot go wrong with the Daytona.

Yes, why not, but better with a suit than a dress John.

Wear it with a suit if you want, and I'm sure it will look good, but it will never be a Dress Watch!

Yes, and in news just in, it's also OK to wear training shoes with your Dinner Suit.

Get real, guys.

Yeah... But if you watch any Award Ceremony on TV there will be plenty who do... I think it's a badge of honour these days to look like a prat!

Bah Humbug!

Funnily enough, i'm just about to take mine off, after three days wearing it formally, two business meetings, and once taking my wife to a nice Restaurant for her birthday, it always feels comfortable under the cuff when wearing a suit. As i'm typing this i am putting on my Sea Dweller, so ciao, and have a nice Mothering Sunday.

For best results get a WG Daytona on strap with a simple white dial.
