Hodinkee insurance question

I recently signed up for the Hodinkee insurance. In the event that I would ever need to file a claim, heaven forbid, what type of proof would be required as proof of ownership? I purchased all of my watches from my AD, but some have involved a trade, another was a gift, and so I'm not sure if I have the receipt for each one.

I do have the box and warranty cards for all of them (and a ton of wrist shots!). Would those be enough as proof of ownership?

Thanks!

Have you thought about asking Hodinkee?

Take lots of pics and get appraisals for the ones you don’t have receipt for or didn’t purchase at an AD. I moved all my watches over to Hodinkee from Jewelers Mutual and have been very satisfied.

This is not my experience. Every time I have called I have either gotten the representative on the phone or left a message and was promptly called back. I had the same question and depending on the circumstances of the loss you maybe required to provide more, as stated in the policy. I had a family member with 32 years of insurance claims experience read the actually policy and she was completely satisfied with the stated coverage and the policy parameters. There is a post on TRF where a member had a watch taken from his hotel room and had to file a claim. He was paid and from the post was satisfied with the coverage and claims experience.

As I recall, the watch that was taken from the hotel room and promptly reimbursed for by Hodinkee is a watch that was just purchased within a few days of the theft, so the poster still had the necessary proof of purchase with him.
