insurance photo's

Nearly had a major fire today due to the good ladies hair straighters,so I was on to the insurance company to up the contents insurance on the house, plus they wanted some proof i've got the watches I have insured,so scans of paperwork and a few pictures sent. Don't get caught out people,I was lucky today.Yes I had my watches insured but its up to me to tell them replacement value every year, and I was under insured.

Yes, lovely collection there.

I was in the same boat last week (insurance re-newal, not fire) and I was woefully under-insured thanks to all the price hikes here of late.

Colin.

beautiful display. also thanks for the reminder - I have been meaning to fax in my paperwork from when my rolex was recently serviced. i found it is woefully undervalued with regards to replacement cost.

I would imagine everyone here is pretty good about understanding how their watches are insured, but none the less, don't assume you have enough coverage for each watch. Most basic homeowners policies have limits on jewelry, and even you you have a $10,000 limit, it may read something like 2500/10000, which means $2500 per item, up to $10,000 for all items regardless of total value/# of items. Also, some policies are peril specific, meaning that when it comes to your personal items, only certain ways they are lost or damaged are covered. Bottom line is pull out your policy, call your agent, describe exactly what you have, how much it is worth, and what you are covered for ($ and cause of loss), and make sure they have you down for the right setup, or buy a seperate policy for jewelry exclusively.

Get a fire-safe vault as an insurance! Only thing to worry about then is the firemen trying to snatch it..
