SARX013- A Nice Surprise!!!

I have probably owned 5 of these, but always the black one, maybe a grayish kind of black, I think known as the SARX015. And for some reason, it never stuck with me. And I liked it for sure, always buying it again, wondering why I parted with it, and then parting with it again. And now, again, I guess bored, I looked around and saw one on ebay, but in white, this one.

It arrived yesterday and must say I was immediately struck by its beauty. I never liked the steel bracelet on this model and put it on a leather strap, and am pleased with the outcome.

This is kind of a funny model from Seiko, I don't think it ever really got as much respect as it deserved. But it was reintroduced in a slightly different form at some point and in some different colors.

I guess it's sort of a nod to the Omega Aqua Terra, the dial has the "wooden decks of luxury sailboats" design, though vertical on the Seiko.

I always loved the dimensions, not too big or too small at 39.5mm, and a nice layout that, to me, doesn't wear particularly big or small. 11mm thickness, to me makes for excellent proportions.

Funny thing is that since I got really into this stuff, since around 2015, the darker dial SARX and a Grand Seiko I owned are the only two watches to ever get noticed and complimented by anyone, these two Seikos, not my Rolex watches lol I must add that a Hamilton Ventura I wore at some point was also sometimes noticed by people when I was out.

Enjoying it a whole lot right now!

That is a handsome watch that does look quite a lot like the "Teak Dial" Omega. Enjoy!

The Omega sure is nice! It's a different game, and clearly a finer timepiece... given the price, it should be! Thanks for this beautiful photo!

I had that one, with the red tip on the seconds hand, SARX17? Only one though, but I had several with the plain seconds hand. Loving the white face, kind of like the white album lol But SARX 15, 17 or 13 is kinda like Rubber Soul, Revolver or Pepper... all great!!!
