Considering Purchasing 5230G. Seems cheap. Thoughts?

Hi all,

First time poster here! Hope I’m doing this right

I’m seriously considering buying a 5230G from a well-known dealer in my country. Love the watch, and think these are serious value for complicated Patek. It is a 2022 lightly used with a couple of hairline scratches, full set b&p. 2 OEM straps, one of which is unworn. Deployment buckle.

Thought I might ask some advice price-wise. I’m at 33k and the dealer is at 35k. I will get the tax back, so at 35k it would end up costing me 31.5k USD.

Here’s the weird part. This has been sitting in the dealer’s window for 3 weeks. I had thought this was a pretty hot price for a virtually new world time. Am I out of touch here? Has the market softened that much?

Its a good price, buy it if you are going to wear it and enjoy it. While its a lot of watch the market/demand for that piece is just not there.

I think the 5230G has been discontinued if I’m not mistaken. Quite surprising to hear that is trading at that price. I would have thought it will be higher.

It depends on how much you trust the dealer. If it’s reputable, then no harm pursuing the deal. But it’s quite unusual for a WT to trade for that price.

Ouch! That seems very cheap. Assuming it’s 100% ok - but does it come with all the paperwork?

The PP current price list is £76,190 - in pink. Mine is ivory/cream - now discontinued in this, the better colour!

My AD warns me that a new price list is on the way… possibly coinciding with the mid October new releases.

Price is good. I have a 5230(r) and I love it. the complication is super useful and the watch looks perfect on the wrist.

OP is talking worldtime, not a PC.

Really disappointed they discontinued the 5230g, leaving harder to get platinum or even harder to get 5231 as only alternatives.

I dislike the specific guilloche pattern of 5230G (and R) and would rather go 5230P or 5110 in pretty much any metal (except for 5110G assuming the G had still been Rhodium plated back then).

Seems like a really good deal I’d be a buyer at 31.5k if you get the tax back - make sure you trust the dealer though

Seems like a great price if all checks out (including the dealer) and you really want the watch. I think it's a nice piece and a good addition to Patek's line of world time watches.

Well said its a great watch, just not so much hype behind it like the classics.

I was forced to add-on a 5230G when buying the 5212A. The more I wear the 5230G the more it becomes one of the favorites on my collection.

Perfect size for my wrist at 38.5mm and 10.4mm thick. It could not sit more perfectly. What I love most is the case design - modern but very classy that can be worn both formally and casually.

Love it love it love.

Sounds like a great price on a neat watch to me. Would like one in my collection.
