1960 Submariner Long 5 Bezel Question

Good Sunday morning Gentlemen,

Would someone be so kind as to explain what is the difference between a long 5 bezel versus a standard bezel used in a 5513 1960 - 1966 Submariner. I’ve looked at multiple pictures and not sure I get it.

Thank you!

It is the shape of the negative (black) space inside the loop of the 5, rectangular vs. square. At least that's how I distinguish them.

That makes sense… it was driving me nuts! Now that you’ve defined it for me, I can see the difference.

Thank you my friend… very much appreciated.

It's best to compare using clear straight-on photos. Pics that are taken at an angle sometimes obscure the shape.

Thanks for the insight. Fortunately, I have an actual bezel to examine. Given your post, it’s a long 5.
