Need help identifying a vintage Omega
Dear good people,
I hope you are well. I was rummaging through my grandfather's old stuff and came across this old Omega watch. Does anyone here know the type/series of this watch? Thanks! |

A very cool Omega to own and wear, in my opinion. This example needs some extensive restoration and service (certainly new hands, crystal, etc.), so if you're thinking of doing that and wearing it then I recommend asking around for the right watchmaker who can do that while still keeping the cost down. It may have a caliber with Omega's proprietary quick-set date mechanism that worked by moving the crown in and out from the case, and if so then the right watchmaker will be needed in order to assemble that mechanism correctly. It takes a specially designed strap that works only with this model of Omega and literally nothing else, but there are replacement straps available from Omega and also from aftermarket makers.
I like this model a lot and would love to have one in my collection. Some day when the right one comes along I'll purchase it. If you find it interesting then I think it would be a cool watch to have restored and to wear |
