VULCAN XII update

I inspected the sample dials yesterday at CW's offices (and bought myself a Ti blue series Twelve).

The VULCAN XII dial looked amazing, but I have requested a small colour change. Those with an allocation will have received a fully detailed update a few minutes ago.

Sorry for those who missed out on an allocation, but all 49 pieces sold out within hours.

It also looks a very different orange to the Phoenix, which is good.

The case back was perfect, so I signed that off for production.

The date wheel will be colour matched after the dial is finalised.

I expect delivery around April - May.

Yeah I missed out on the list but still enjoy seeing your progress.
It's gotta be such a cool experience creating a custom run, visiting the factory and being part of the whole process. Im kinda envious of you.

I'm genuinely sorry you had to miss out & I'm sure you will eventually be able to get one on the secondary market when the time is right for you

Icon20 VULCAN XII first reveal

Mine is the first to arrive, and I received it today.

I am pleased to report that it met, and even exceeded, my design objectives.

VULCAN XII is like two very different watches, depending on the light. In bright overhead indoor light (eg under ceiling LEDs in my garage) it appears like the video.

However, in dull lighting, including under a cloudy sky, it appears very different and far more muted with no sunray effect and very much like a setting tropical sun.

This is not a watch for the shy and retiring. You will get noticed

I will take better pictures with my dSLR at the weekend and share them early next week.

Pairing this with a single color outfit, like all black or all white, will make the watch even more standout

Icon17 Vulcan xii

My 49 piece limited edition design, sold out in under 1 day. Preceded by my Phoenix, and followed by my Jade Dragon. I’m currently creating my fifth CW limited edition bespoke.

It has 3 very clearly defined dial states in differing light.

VULCAN XII is shown here at its most understated, on the rubber strap pics.
Overcast natural light show the first 2 states.

You can see it transitioning from a flat dial (looks like a setting tropical sun 🌞) to an intermediate state with the sunburst just starting.

2nd (intermediate) dial state:

The 3rd dial state is volcanic fire with sunburst. Indoors in my garage, on bracelet.

The black seconds hand was 100% the correct decision on this Applied twin flags logo is perfectly balanced by the colour-matched date.

Hopefully the 4 colour fade fumé complexity of the dial & the effort that went into creating this dial are evident.

All pictures and videos are straight from my phone, unedited/uncorrected, only cropped smaller.
