Foggy London Town
What the bloody 'ell!! I've had more sunshine in London yesterday than 2 weeks in Guam.
A couple quick wrist shots while I have the time and a few observations: I found the beer cold [lager that is] and the people warm and friendly. Looking forward to the GTG on Saturday. dP

Hey Dan...welcome to the UK.
Don't drink the water, don't buy "lucky heather", don't laugh at the guy with the megaphone outside Oxford Circus Tube Stairwell and try and stay off the tube between 7.30am -9.30am and 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Take a walk in the city...Oxford Street, Hyde Park, Mayfair/Park Lane, Piccadilly, Leicester Sq, Covent Garden and Soho. Regents St is kinda nice too. Oooh and Canarby Street!!!! Some nice boozers in Soho or Leicester Sq for a decent beer and lunch! Have a look in Fortnum and Mason, Selfridges, Liberty and Hamleys (for the kiddies)...expect to pay big money though!!!!! Have a great time. J PS I was only joking about the water! |

Thanks for the warm welcome and warm weather!!! And a special thanks to Shoppy [Simon] for the Rolex London info cause I was able to procure the 3rd of three GMT bezel inserts [red/ burgundy] to commemorate my visit to London.
I tried to sneak a pic of the Rolex offices while waiting for the coke insert to be installed and the damn flash went off. But it's the best I could do. So here 'ya go. Saturdays GTG will be a blast but my wife says I have to wear handcuffs and relinquish the credit cards. dP

Wind back to 1977. My very first foreign vacation with my parents and brother. I had done some reading about London and shopping. Carnaby Street. Funky boutiques, Mod clothes (no, you gits, not our Mods!) and very, very hip! When we finally went there it was one big disappointment! No boutiques, only vague clothes stores with silly cowboy shirts and chequered pants I just couldn't believe that it was all gone! But there were other places to go of course. Fresh dates to be had at street corner stalls, never seen that before. And suddenly, I heard music coming from a store (fine weather, open doors) that I had never heard before. Mesmerising and out of this world. It was the staccato synthesiser magic of Giorgio Morroder's 'I feel love' performed by Donna Summer

Got to ride the London Eye today. Very cool and you can't beat the weather. The lousy wrist shot shows the bezel used to time the wait in line. Only 14 minutes, amazing!!!
As we walked to the Tower Of London I stopped to take a proper shot and show off my new London, I mean coke, I mean black/ burgundy bezel. dP

One of the coolest things I've seen in London was this photo that covers the construction of the Louie Vuitton store on Bond St. The largest pic of one on my all time favorite musicians, Keef Riffhards.
