Opinon on having more than 1 rolex
I know many here have 2 rolex watches in their collection but what are your opinions on having 2 of the same brands in your collection. I've been thinking about adding a 3 hand dive watch to my collection down the line like the 114060 but I have a GMT Ceramic so I feel my collection could be not well balanced. I'm thinking about the Tudor black bay eta to kind of even out the collection. I would consider my self a collector/passionate watch person even if I have 2 pieces at the moment. So what are your thoughts on having 2 Rolexes in a collection. IMO I don't like it. But I completely respect people that do and can see the reasoning for doing so.
Hope everyone is havings a Happy Holiday season! All the best, Glenn

Well, I have four (DJ, Sub, GMTII, Explorer) and I'd probably get more, but I'm so old and have too many watches to rotate through in a reasonable period of time anyway.
I think you will find that most here have more than one Rolex and many have more than two.

Not sure if I can answer your question, but I think your current collection (Rolex GMT + Omega Speedmaster) is as perfect as it can get!

If I had the funds for 10 I would not have a problem with owning 10. The only thing that would make me think twice is if I ever got to the stage where I was not wearing them because I had too many.

Totally fine.
The rolexkingofLV has 5 Daytona's in different variations. I'm sure he loves his collection.

Noting wrong with not having a balance of brands if that is what YOU want. It is YOU who defines what is a cool collection. Some people only collect subs, some people only collect square watches....to each their own. A great collection is what is great to YOU....don't worry so much about what we think.

I am old so I winnowed down to one watch - the Platona - and I wear it everyday. I have reached the point in my life where I don't want unnecessary objects. I can admire everyone else' stuff on TRF.

Surely you could use a stainless steel diver or GMT if that Platona needs any work done?

As you start to grow and round out your collection, having repeat brands should become less of an issue.
Unless you're specifically building a collection around brands... You have to define what you want first. |

I've been all over with many brands...and down to mainly Rolex. I've tried to hold on to a larger variety of brands but reality is, I enjoy the Rolex sports models too much and like to rotate through them even if the majority of the world has no idea I have not been wearing the same one every day. For me, no need to have other varieties for variety sake

Personally I wish only one could do dress and sport but this simply isn't the case. The original 214270 with WG, not lumed, romans probably comes closest to accomplishing this.

I've just got one. Deepsea.
I won't be adding another because I only wear it on the weekends and I have a lot of hobbies that are expensive. There's not another watch I want but if I had extra funds for more watches and I loved one I would get it. |

I really enjoy Rolex, although I do have other watches. I like Rolex best and I don't think I could set a limit.

I've owned a few other brands - Panerai, Patek, AP, and Omega to name a few, but I come back to Rolex as I like the durability of the watches and am hard-pressed to find ANY bracelet as comfortable as the Rolex Oyster.
At present I've got 5 Rolexes (16110 LV, SD, Deep Blue, BLNR, Daytona) and 1 AP (15400). By a long shot, I wear the Rolexes most of the time - usually the BLNR.

The best thing about Your collection is that it is yours! You've got the quintesstential modern all-rounder and a historic chronograph(FANTASTIC choices, btw). Maybe add some gold or leather? Think rotation...What would be really different than your current lineup that strikes your fancy? And I see no issue with brand repeats in a collection! I don't think anyone on this forum minds more than one Rolex in their collections.
I've been getting really experimental with my second watch thoughts... I've seen some nice EXP/GMTs on here; but a bubble top 5513 is really screaming to me nowadays. I've also looked at PAM, or even a Mr G for something REAALLY different. |

I have four Rolex but I'd probably like to flip one for a Panarei to add a little interest.
