What kind of person are you?

I can be reserved when I need to be but generally I’m more vocal, flashy, competitive, and direct. I find most people to be very very boring. Tan people, with tan personalities, driving tan cars, living in tan houses, living tan lives…… For transparencies sake, I’m living some of this right now too and aching for change, but alas….. Anyway, in the conservative region I live in, I tend to be a love me or hate me kind of guy. How about you???

I'm pretty bland, not gonna lie. But I like it that way.

Dry, cutting humor, but respectful.

People always form their own opinions of other people so trying to please them isn't a concern for me.

Basically I like people and receive incredible energy from them.

You have some of the best dry humor I’ve ever seen. Lots of your posts make me laugh and the funny part is sometimes it’s 10 minutes after I read it.

I can relate to that as well. I’m usually 3 or 4 steps behind Blansky, but I always get there eventually

Conservative with a little bit of a temper at times. I can’t sit still much…Mostly keep to myself. I’d rather lay low than be out in a crowd. Definitely an A type personality. I push myself to improve myself and go at things I’m committed to 110%.

I'm very quiet and reserved until I know people well, then I'm sarcastic, sometimes bordering on obnoxious.

Definitely understated, not a flashy dresser, wear a boring Sub-C or Exp II Polar, drive pretty conservative cars (GS-350 & Grand Cherokee) both in boring colors (champagne & grey).

Yikes! You criticize your wife’s cooking? Brave man. My buddy’s wife put Ex-lax in his food to teach him a lesson. She of course denied it. Lol.

What kind of person are you?

Out of the night that covers me
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance,
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

- William Earnest Henley

This poem helped mold me in my formative years. I am incredibly hard nosed when I need to be but I try every day to be the best person for those around me. I’ve got a lot to make up for to even hope for a pleasant afterlife.

I am eccentric, brain has a million things going through it a minute, I dress how I want, I do what I want, I speak my mind and stand up for my opinion to anyone, my decisions are made with my family and friends best interest first, I always have to be doing something and I don’t feel any need to “keep up with Jones’”

I would very much like to think that this describes me. I do admit to having "winced" and having "cried aloud" on a number of occasions, but I'm not ashamed of having done so.

I have not read this poem since I was a young Pfc. stationed at Las Pulgas, Camp Pendleton, California. Someone had written it on a building I had to guard four hours on and four hours off, while I awaited my orders to Vietnam, back in 1968.

Tet '68 had just begun and I was stuck in a unit that was going nowhere and so, I went to my lieutenant and demanded orders as soon as a quota came in.

He said that he said that he would grant my wish, but that I had to stand guard duty and mess duty while I waited. I served a week of each before the orders came in.

Anyway, I'm a pretty drab person on the whole. I'm not much influenced by the demands of others, but I do try to be considerate.

Sometimes, I'm loud and obnoxious and other times, I'm quiet and withdrawn.

I haven't accomplished much in my life, but I have accomplished those things that I thought were important given my circumstances.

I'm happy with how things turned out and I wish the same for others.

Racist.

I'm with the OP: Most people cannot keep my interest for more than about 3 minutes. Part of it is my A.D.D. part of it is because they are dull and/or unimaginative, and part of it is because I just don't have the patience to listen to them.

I'm good humored but also firm on a day to day, but always polite and respectful with everyone especially the underprivileged. I'm honest and dependable as well but that's an obligation IMO not a predicate.
