15503 / 26239 Limited JAPAN new RO

Came across this today:

I’m loving these vivid blue colors. Too bad they are limited and only offered to the Asia market. Interesting they are in white gold though. Just wanted to share and hear what you guys think

15503? Wonder if this is only for this edition, rather than a new iteration of the RO. Cadence between 15300/400/500 was ~8 years iirc so this would break the pattern…

For me, the bright blue works better on the ROC then on the RO (but then I'm also not that biggest fan of the blue VC Overseas).

This blue is amazing, the usual blue is too muted. Need it on a rose gold 26239!

Don’t really like that shade of blue – it reminds me of the Overseas blue. I feel that the grayish-blue hue on the original makes it more interesting.

Agreed. Saw a 26239 on chrono a few months ago for $280k. Looks like they have come down some but still over $200k

Lovely blue. Seems like the brighter hues as evidenced by the Tiffany crazy may be a trend we will continue to see. I was smitten by the Yves Klein dial when I sprung
for this baby.

This 14790 is from 1995. The Yves Klein dials are head turners.

Is the chrono 38 or 41?
Looking at the first photo it looks a bit smaller than the RO.
So perhaps AP has found a way to put an in-house movement in the 38 chronograph.
Date window is now centered.

26239 is 41mm

Thanks! I checked it later on in Chrono24.

I am wishing and expecting the 38m chrono to get in-house movement and open case back. And I thought that’s the start of it

The size of the 4401 movement is borderline for the 41mm case (e.g., looking at the radial location of the date window). As is, there's no way it fits the 38mm ROC. Current 26315 movement is 26.2mm, 4401 is 32mm diameter.

Also, the 26315 is the same height as the 26331 (11mm); the 26239 is 12.4mm and looks pretty chunky. That height in a 38mm case would look odd, IMO, more like a miniature offshore. So, it's going to be interesting to see what AP is going to do.
