Icon20 New 2023 Daytona - yellow gold bracelet or oysterflex?

If you were offered both, which one would you pick? This is the new 2023 model without the red seconds hand and is my favorite dial on the new gold Daytona.

I like how the bracelet version now uses the maxi style case with the curved lugs, but think the ceramic bezel on the oysterflex model would be better for daily wear. Hard choice!

I cannot see any difference in the lugs, but I much prefer the bracelet model. As others have opined here before something about PM and a rubber strap just doesn’t go together well.

the previous 116 series Yellow Gold Daytonas used the same Asymmetrical smaller lugs like the SS models did...now all the 126 series have the same symmetrical thicker lugs that the WG/RG/Platinum models had....

The OP is referring to the fact that previously the 116508 (yellow gold Daytona on a bracelet) differed from the other PM Daytonas including the 116518 (YG on a strap/oysterflex) in that it utilised the asymmetric case design of the SS/TT Daytonas.

The 126508 now utilises the symmetrical, 1mm larger case design

100% gold bracelet.

That is a statement watch.

If you don’t go for the bracelet, get alligator leather and not oyster flex for that particular watch.

New 2023 Daytona - yellow gold bracelet or oysterflex?

With that back dial, I’d go full bracelet, easily. I think the PN dial on OF is too much black. Not enough contrast. The OF Daytonas look better with lighter dials imo. Silver or champagne particularly.

I think it really depends on what you have in your collection and how you’d wear it. Both are stunning and you can’t go wrong with either. I love the gold bracelet but don’t like the attention it draws therefore I know I wouldn’t wear it as much as the oysterflex.

A full yellow gold Rolex screams like no other. If you’re comfortable or don’t mind flexing the watch (and nothing wrong with that) go full gold. For the slight bump in price it makes financial sense.

Easy one for me, has to be on OF. I have 116518LN and love the OF as a daily.

Bracelet.

Love the pottery bezel (I had a pottery Sub for three years), but gold bezel > pottery bezel.

(Though personally I'd then pop it on black rubber.)

OF more sporty in my opinion and very comfortable. I have the discontinued PN dial on OF and really like it

Bracelet without a second’s hesitation. The OF on Daytona looks better with WG, IMHO.

Strap won’t age well. Will date it to this era but not in a good way.

People will say “wtf were people thinking!??”

So, uhm, bracelet gets my vote.

Bracelet is my vote, I am not a fan of the OF.
I did not find it comfortable.

I’m having a very similar dilemma as one of the two will be leaving to fund another non watch purchase. OF will likely be the one leaving. Probably like the OF aesthetically more but full gold better long term.

Always amazes me how much larger the ceramic bezel and symmetrical case makes it look.

Personally I'm not a fan of the oysterflex. If I'm spending that sort of money, I'd want a full pm bracelet, and I think they look a lot better

I have the same model/dial on request. Went with Osterflex.

I think it looks more sporty with the Oysterflex and I prefer the ceramic bezel.

Should be here in the spring.

Depends on your collection, do you have alot on Bracelet? I have the one above on OF, this is my second OF Rolex. I really do think Rolex rubber bracelets are much better than competitors.

Purchasing with bracelet probably makes sense. Using after the fact would likely be more expensive. OF purchased separately is about $550. There are other rubber options. If you are sure that you will never wear the gold bracelet, then OF right away. What I have learned though is what I like or dislike today can definitely change years from now. Go with bracelet.how does pricing vary betweeen the 2?

If it were my first PM piece, I’d get the bracelet. If I had others, I might consider the oysterflex.
