Thinking about trading a daytona ceramic black for a omega snoopy silver

Hello, as the title says I am thinking about trading my 2018 daytona ceramic black dial, for a 2015 omega speed master moon watch snoopy (silver snoopy).

I bought the Daytona at retail, but I am not really in love with it, I wanted the white dial but couldn’t get it, probably down the road in the future I will be able to. It has been used lightly, mainly for a few business meetings.

I really like the silver snoopy but I am a little questioned about The price that has skyrocketed, it has cost new $9,000 +-, now the few ones are available have an asking price of $25k +-. Don’t really looking to gain $$$ by getting the omega, but wouldn’t want to take a hit if the prices come down hard.

I got an offer to trade my Daytona plus $4k to get an unworn silver snoopy. I would be more comfortable trading it Watch for Watch, but don’t know if it may de doable.

What are your thoughts? I am an idiot and should keep the Daytona? Or should I make the trade? Under what conditions?

I would prefer to trade with someone Who has a white daytona and wants to trade +/- cash. Wouldn’t trade any daytona for that

I like the Snoopy but the old one... Also have a Daytona white dial.
I wouldn’t swap black Daytona for new snoopy - even if you paid MSRP for Daytona.

Why not get the old snoopy

Royal Oak Chronograph I'm assuming he's talking about.

Because the newer snoopy is way better looking (although not worth the current market price in my eyes).

I'd say keep the Daytona, or sell if you aren't into it. I personally wouldn't want to trade it plus cash for the snoopy, and I like Snoopy a lot.

I would go with the trade if no money is involved, but still couldn’t find someone willing to do it. These snoopys are hard to find, at least for now much more difficult than Daytona’s.

I would in a heart beat. There are only 1970 Snoopy's, and you can always get another Daytona for $12,400 if you are patient.

That is a solid argument, I suppose per year ceramic Daytonas are produced in higher quantities than 1,970

You're not an idiot for thinking of the idea....since it's comparable on the market now value wise. I don't agree with the premium on either watches though.....I do think if you're sure you'll love the Apollo XIII 45th more than the Daytona...it makes total sense to me.

i wouldnt do it as it is only a matter of time before Omega releases another one. anything LE from Omega is only limited in so far as not enough time has passed to fleece the market for another one. look at what theyve just done with Gemini IV LE release from 2005. they released a LE for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that is nearly the exact same watch.

This is very true, and it is expected an new snoopy for 2020

Two major different releases. Rolex fanatics here are paying over $10,000 more just for the flat-4 font on the bezel of the 50th Anv. Submariners

Typical Omega, with all of their "limited editions". I understand the history of the moonwatch, but I just cannot get behind the brand and their blah-like watches.

Just my opinion, so don't kill me.

Isn’t it a different movement/spec watch?

Movement is the same. Difference is Tokyo has a sapphire glass, Olympics caseback, different shaped dial and an adjustable clasp.

Sure Omega is rather loose with it's LE stuff but an original snoopy still beats the new one (if/when that comes). I wouldn't usually support trading a Daytona but this is a tough decision.

Kind of. The original Snoopy (the one with the Snoopy blue subdial) goes for half the price of the white snoopy. My only concern with Omega (and I do own a LE Speedy) is that you never knows whats coming next. They may issue an "even hotter" Snoopy in 2020, with the original Cal. that they just re-issued. And that would be catastrophic for the Silver Snoopy. It's a 25k watch - lots and lots of options on that price range.
