Buying the "Hulk" concerns?

I'm going to buy a ceramic sub within the next week. Green cars traditionally are slow sellers, my new Lund boat is green and I love it! Green clothes were never my thing, etc. etc.

My question is for my final rolex purchase being 65 years old would a green sub ceramic look good, be recommended, be a turn off etc?

I have owned several nice Rolex's in my day but for one reason or another ending up selling them and regretting that!

The green sub interests me but I see so many for sale. Is there a problem in demand with this model or green rolex owners do you love them?

Thanks for the feedback!

For your final rolex? The "hulk" wouldn't be in my top 10 of choices.

I have some bucks coming soon. I almost pulled the trigger on a bluesy two tone ceramic sub built in 2013 used minty model for $10k. This is one of my most desired models but my dilemma is $10k is almost over the top for me. I know I can find two tone older mint subs for 2/3 the price.

Well for a sticking sub that gets attention would a SS greeny be a good choice?

I love my hulk. Don't wear it all the time, but it is probably my favorite watch which I own

Last watch probably not. For 8k-10k there are a few great options

Just picked up my green Sub yesterday and am loving it. Initial thoughts were similar to yours in terms of a green watch, but after seeing it in person and trying it on, those concerns were put to rest. It truly is a fantastic looking watch. The green dial is not too overpowering as in some situations, it almost appears black.

Go for it!

I am 64 and bought my Hulk when I was 63. I love it, and wear it with all colors. I will very likely buy another rolex, probably a Daytona, but that is not related to the Hulk: I just want another Rolex to rotate from time to time.

I don't think there are a lot for sale relative to other subs, or even Daytonas. You may just be noticing the Hulks for sale because you are focused on them.

It really comes down to: do you want a Sub that stands out a bit from the ordinary? And will you be happy with green? Because you could buy a Blue dial TT for a bit more, if you like blue better. But to buy a blue dial/bezel with a white metal bracelet, you have to buy a WG Blue Sub, which are well over 20K.

Again, Green is not my favorite color, but I absolutely love my Hulk and will never sell or trade it. Just another opinion from a fellow geezer.

I had a black Sub C that I wore for about a year, got bored with it and gave it to my Son after buying the Hulk for myself to replace it. I'm wearing it now and loving it, but rotate it with my bluesy 16613. Oh, and I'm 67.

Thanks for the great replays! I'm starting to warm up to a greeny since someone posted that beautiful watch worn on this thread.

I'm in Montana and where I'm at the nearest AD is in Billings. I've never tried one on or seen one in person. When I called the Billings AD he tried to talk me into a Batman. He said they are the nicest looking Rolex's in his cabinet in his opinion. He said the demand is high for the blue and black. He did say the Hulk was not ostentatious or over the top.

I owned a black ceramic pictured in my post and loved it but got kinda bored with it.

I would say at this point the three candidates are a two tone bluesy, Hulk or a Batman. Some gold is tempting.

For your last Rolex I would not opt to box myself in
with an all green sub ... The other two choices on your
List are fantastic!!! Here's some eye candy . Can't go
wrong with either the TT Bluesy Sub C Sunburst blue dial
or the GMT BLNR .... Unless you want to celebrate ST. Patrick's Day
Everyday ... Then get the Green Sub ... Best wishes...

Love my Hulk and it's a keeper. The green dial is fantastic especially in natural light and it is just unique and different. I have a TT Bluesy that I have been wearing for the last 17 years, and now the Hulk is a piece to mix things up with. Go for it!! Rolex only makes one Hulk for every 4 Black stainless Subs, so it is more limited. If you end up tiring of it, they will hold their value and you would be able to flip it easily.

Hi, may I find out from you, the first Green Sub started on which year?
And until now, how many Green versions are there? May you list out their model numbers, so I can read more about them.., before buying one. :)

Thank you :)

I picked up a Hulk back in May. I love the stupid thing!

It took me a couple years to warm up to the Green. Pictures do not give the Hulk justice, AT ALL.

In the end, I was torn between a Daytona, BLNR, and the LVc. When I put on the LVc, it just sang to me, more than the others.

If you like green then why not. I personally don't wear green, so that kinda rules out the LV for me. Having said that, I do like the green accents on the GMT IIc LN

Don't forget, pictures or it didn't happen...

It's always a pleasure to see a two-tone bluesy.... Enjoy and wear in good health

Which AD in La Jolla? Reason being, I'm going there on vacation there and want to hit at least one.
