Latest addition. I like the engraving on the resin barrel.
Anyone knows where to get those old limited editions? Looking for the 2003 Jules Verne set. |

Nice Pens! Some stores have a few older limited editions in stock but I have only seen up 2005. You might have to get it from ebay.

Thanks!
I am a bit reluctant to buy from ebay - 1. not proficient enough to be able to distinguish fakes from reals on low def photos typical of ebay. 2. on sealed sets you don't even see the pens, rather have to trust the seller completely - or, is this customary for sealed sets? If there are trusted ebay sellers please pm me :-) |

Went into the MB AD in Sydney to have a look. Know jack about pens, the lady there was quite helpful but no discounts unfortunately. I also have several questions to ask you gents: 1) Out of the fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint which one would be best for everyday use? 2) How often do you actually use a fountain pen? Is it more of a collecting thing than a practical object? I did like the feel and flow of the rollerball - the one using fountain pen ink, felt classy. Ballpoint felt like any other pen. |

I didn't buy her a fountain pen... I bought her a rollerball instead. (Also Bordeaux) Now she has a set.

I also enquired and was told the same thing - bordeaux/burgundy colour was discontinued in 2001.
Would you please let me know (PM if you like) where you can still buy these from? And would you say a rollerball or ballpoint is better for everyday use? |

Can one reasonably expect an official Montblanc dealer to discount if asked? If so by how much?

You can still get them on eBay, but at a premium.

Does anyone know if there is any useful information to get from the serial numbers?

Nothing like the Rolex SN's. Mostly they are useful in determining authenticity and for warranty purposes.
