New releases 2021

Watches and Wonders is shortly approaching and we'll see what Panerai has in store for 2021. I was just informed that on the 29th the awesome guys at paneristicom are getting a sneak peak from the Panerai CEO himself about the new releases. I therefore turn the question to you guys. With a lot of models having been discontinued (e.g., 372, 422) do you have any predictions on the new releases for this year?

Look forward to details on the new 9010 movement without hacking seconds. The improvements must be industry-leading breakthrough technology due to the huge secrecy about it from Panerai.

Unfortunately even the 422 has been discontinued. I was informed of this a couple of weeks ago when visiting my local Panerai boutique and in fact if you check the website it now says limited availability for the 372 as well as the 422

I am afraid I don't feel the same. The 372 has to be 47mm no other way, as it is a reissue of the historical panerai 6152/1 that was issued in 1955

42 blue bronzo should make some people happy (and some people unhappy....).

I'm also hearing (from other forums) that the 233 has also been discontinued.

My local boutique also confirmed they are not getting any of those.

I'm picking up the last one tomorrow.

Wow if they do discontinue the 372 and 233 that would be interesting... they are two of the most classic and popular PAMs.

So basically unlimited amounts of 'limited edition' timepieces (ROFLMAO). Was hoping for better from Panerai, yet in the back of my mind i expect as much from them. Big bummer. Ah well, the 01033 finally works well after two trips to service.

Exactly, they're not really 'all that' in the scheme of things imho. Have a feeling Panerai is a fashion watch company at this point with hints of case material science because that's all they got(?).

i look forward to hearing details about the super-duper secretive Gen 2 Panerai 9010 'Evolution' movement and how it must truly be the very best haute horology the industry has ever seen with revolutionary materials and unprecedented reliability. Considering they're removing features to make it more reliable, it's surely should be the most reliable timepiece on planet Earth and Rolex will be shaking in their shoes.

The great news is Panerai is far better than Patek Philippe as PAM knows how to match the date/etc windows with the main dial. This advanced technology is something PP still struggles with to this day after many decades of trying.

Uh, this is what Panerai has been doing for decades. Small batches of similar watches with certain regular series exceptions.

In that sense, this year’s release is like every other year.

Ahhhh, and huge thanks for the info. Guess i was expecting more from Panerai. Ah well.

Am not a big-time 'Paneristi' as you seem to be. Guess i was hoping for more from the company, and again good to see they know how to match date windows with the main dial.

Glad i finally have the 01033 working well and think that's more than enough for me. One Panerai is probably enough for anyone really. Already gave up hope of ever seeing the 1118 after delays, and delays, and yes more delays. Plus in hindsight after my personal hype machine for my love for Tron, at $16k there are far better values out there. I'll hang back and see if Bob from Naples calls me anyway, maybe he'll tag me on a good day when i don't care about the high pricing as am not one to get the very attractive $400 VSF version that looks great and has been shipping for months.

My contact recently received a firmer ETA on my 1118 to be end of this month or beginning of May. They’ve been very reliable in the past and would give honest feedback (such as no ETA was mentioned at all prior to this or the timing on other previous models). It’ll come when the time is right

Agreed on the Blu Notte. There are many in these releases that are fantastic - but I am a 42mm PAM guy, so the Blue Notte moves the needle for me. But all in all, Panerai really coming with some fire in these releases. Wish I had a bigger wrist and I would have at least one of the flybacks on order.

Having a thin wrist, I am in the 42mm camp as well, 1000%!

Cool that they made a blue-dial 317!

But weird that the minute hand doesn't reach the minute marker as it does on the 317.
