Confused upon which AP to buy.

I have decided to get an AP for my birthday but am not sure which one to get between the two I have chosen.

These are the two I have chosen. My dilemma is I like the look of the first one but it only comes in Quartz whereas I really want an Automatic which only comes in the second one. Help!

Personally I prefer the looks of the first too. If its a bit of bling you're after I'd go with that. I also prefer the lack of 'automatic' on the dial which I dislike on recent APs and prefer the double hour markers on the 12 which is a call back to the original genta designed RO. As a pure timepiece the second is better but you have to like the look of the outside more than what is inside.

I know right.. I'm just a little afraid of the maintenance of a quartz watch. I have never owned a quartz so I'm just confused about what to expect hahaha.

Thanks so much for all the feedback! Currently thinking hard about which one to buy and have until February the 10th to think about it as the stock hasn't arrived. 2 votes for 1 and 2 votes for the 2nd one! Keep the feedback pouring.

First of all welcome on board!!!

Go with the one that has the automatic movement. My wife owns a Quartz AP and maintenance is terrible on it. Every time the battery needs to be changed it has to be disassembled in full. Can't go wrong with an automatic movement.

Nope. I tried it on in the store and it's far too bulky and manly for me :(

Hi there, good to see a fellow sg post. Back to the subject, I agree, based on looks, e first definitely looks better. But ask yourself, what are u actually paying for? There are other brands and models which are also quartz with diamonds, most probably at a lower cost too, and minus what Submarino mentioned about changing the battery. Go with a mechanical movement for what you gonna pay. Of course, ultimately buy what you like and want. Look forward to your "new arrival" shot.

Among APs with the exception of the 'Jumbo' most Royal Oaks without a second hand happen to be Quartz.

I like the first one, and you can't tell that its not automatic because there is no sweeping hand. However, an automatic is an automatic. Get the one that sings the most to you! and Happy Birthday!!!!!

Of the two, I like #2. A) it's got softer curves and looks more feminine and 2) Automatique.

Sadly, ladies APs in the smaller sizes seem to be mostly quartz.

I say buy the automatic if they can arrange for the dial to be swapped?

Won't necessarily work as different movements ergo date window and canon pinions won't properly line up.

I can't possibly ask my Mom to get me both. I'm relatively young and can only choose one!

I would say automatic. I would suggest to wait a bit, SIHH (international watch show) is around the corner and we could see a 15451OR 37mm Lady Royal Oak in RG with a strap option. That would be the perfect choice!

When is the International Watch Show? My god if they do come out with that I'm totally sold.

I like the hands and markers on the second one. And the gold trim around the date window is a nice touch.

As Michael already said i would recommend you to wait until late January for SIHH as they will present some new stunning Lady RO and ROO's.
