ROO 43 Incoming!

First of all I apologise as I’m in London and no idea how to post pictures from my phone - I’m back home tomorrow so will take some pictures (unless anyone here that has my number can post them if I what’s app then).

Went to the AP House yesterday and tried on a few of the new watches and the new smoked taupe one really looked fantastic. Strange as the pictures don’t do it justice. Slept on it overnight and went back earlier to get it.

Really taken with it and it looks amazing on the black strap as well. Can’t decide which one I prefer to be honest.

And now on Black Rubber and not the Taupe;

Reference the last pic.......as we all know AP ROO's can look oversized on the wrist but in pictures only if the angle isn't quite right (same with pics on my 7.25"-7.5" wrist).....having seen this watch on my own wrist (and Stephen of course!!!) I can confirm it is a perfect fit here.

Wow, congrats! I think it looks even better on the black strap! With the easy strap change system, the roo becomes an even fun watch to wear.

I’ve had a VC overseas so used to strap changes and AP have got this sussed. Very easy, less than a minute to change both straps and the buckle.

I’m not hugely into black straps but it totally works on this - probably because of the ceramic bezel. It looks superb.

Sweet. Real life pictures of the taupe dial make me have second thoughts about putting the grey/titanium on top of my wishlist.

@vogelphoenix, when the announcement was made, I had the grey as my top pick as well with the taupe no where on my pecking order. Having now seen them, the taupe is really quite stunning and I think will be #1. It's such a unique dial. There are other gray dial watches, and lots of black dial watches, but this color and how it picks up the texture is really unique.

I'm sure the gray will continue to be stunning when we finally get to see one in person, but I looked at how the gray bezel and other ROO gray dials looked in person to try and get an idea of what the finished 43ROO would look like, and decided taupe was better.

The photos here are an accurate reflection of what they look like in person.

Good luck in the hard choice picking!

Definitely works on the black to tie into the bezel.

Great to have the Taupe as the second option on the new quick change strap system too.

I used to have a 4500v too, but i feel that AP quick strap change is much easier to release. The notch of the 4500v can be difficult to pinch.

Now you have 2 straps to play with 🙂

Congratulations!!! Wear in great health!

The smoked Taupe is definitely my favorite after seeing the pics on here. I got to try on the Steel black ceramic this week as they just started arriving over here.

I have to be honest…I am thinking about selling the Ghost for a smoked Taupe dial as I do not need to “add” an Offshore right now. The fit is exactly the same as my Ghost (a bit big on me yes, but it IS an Offshore after all). I am a Ghost lover, but I’m going to end up in the ER changing straps on it…Having the strap swap is definitely a feature that I’m willing to make a change for.

If you still like your ghost a lot, just wait it our for the plot conversion kit!

Hmmm…I wasn’t aware that was going to be an option. It would be hard to depart with the Ghost, and I think I’d only do it for the Taupe dial if I like it in person as much as I love the photos I’ve seen on here.

The rest of the new Offshore colorways are nice, but they don’t excite me over other watches I have my eyes on. Well, the new RG Offshore is another level gorgeous but I’m not looking for a PM Offshore or adding something at that price point.

AP House in London certainly gave me the impression that this would be available on older models.

Congrats!

It looks great. What is the minimum size wrist should be to wear this 43mm ROO?

It will depend on if your wrist is flat or curved to a degree, but I'd suggest no less than 7" to look "right"

Chris on this forum has a sub 7” wrist and the 44mm looks perfect on his wrist.

Absolutely.

It'll also depend on your build/height to a degree to be able to carry off a 43/44mm piece, as well wrist size/shape.
