My very first MB...plz help!
Hello ladies & gents...
I am a newbie here. I am buying a MB ballpoint pen this new year. My price range is 400-500 us$. I am a 20 yr old girl who is a dental student. I prefer red gold (pink gold) colored ones. So, what should I get? Thank you for any inputs. :) |

Hello Sandar, my daughter is also a dental student and also wanted a nice ballpoint pen. She chose the Princes Grace. It is a little more <$600.00 at an online store. It is lavender in color (similar to color used for the dental symbol) with rose gold trim.

Sandar- I just checked the web site and they describe it as "Champagne Gold" so you should check it out if you can to see if the color suits you. Good luck in your quest......Browining.

I was looking into buying Boheme Marron ballpoint pen. Would you please give me your opinion on that? I'm sorry I am a newbie when it comes to pens. And my another stupid question: does a refill comes inside the pen if I buy online from montblanc.com? Thank you again.

That's a nice looking pen. There are a lot of fans of the Boheme line. If you can, try to see how it fits and balances in your hand. If you're going to do long writing sessions this will be important. If your like most students these days and take class notes on their laptop not so important. My daughter tends not to use her "nice" pen in clinic as it's not the cleanest place (haha) and most everything is computerized anyway.

Please do yourself a favor and go to a store that sells pens and MontBlanc pens so you can test them out and see which one(s) are comfortable in your hand when you use it. There are many fine brands out there as well but you would be wise to check them out in person.....then if you want to buy on line go right ahead. It is an investment and gift to yourself so you want to make the right/best decision and remember if the pen is made of resin, which MontBlanc pens are, you must be careful not to drop it as you can damage the barrel and such. It can be repaired but does cost money to fix it so once you own it do not lend it out to others to use!!!
Good luck...happy hunting.....and take it easy...Leo

Thank you all for your replies. And Mr. Leo, thank you for letting me know about the resin. I didn't know that pens made of resins are that fragile.

They are just... plastic so if dropped, they will shatter into pieces.
Since it looks like you're from Burma, try Pen Gallery in KL, Malaysia. They do sell online and offer a little discount. http://www.pengallery.com/ |

Might be worth looking at "PenGallery dot com" in Malaysia shipping was 15 usd to Hawaii. Bought a Caran D'Ache and refills in July.
edit: Oops missed the previous recommendation. |

Thanks, drockadam! Congrats on your Meisterstuck. But IMO, Meisterstuck line looks masculine a bit so, I chose a Boheme. I have a plan to buy more MBs in the future and I know I need more researches too. :)

Welcome to TRF Sandar! Nice choice on the Boheme. I agree with you, the Meisterstucks tend to be somewhat masculine, so I think you made the right decision. Congrats!
